Antonette Gacutan is my name, but my family and friends used to call me

Tonet. I am currently a 19-year-old college student who lives with her parents.
My father, Antonio Gacutan, is a long-time security guard on a firm whereas, my
mother, Leonisa Gacutan, keeps the house pristine, organized, and spirited. My
mother takes care of us, and my father is the one providing for our needs.

In our family, I am the sole daughter. I have two brothers: an older and a
younger one. Both aren't married yet and still pursuing their dreams through
studying. Nonetheless, I still have a sum of 25 nieces and nephews brought by
my cousins on each parent's side. More will add because there are likewise
impending birth to take place.

I studied in Toro Hills Elementary School during my primary years, as well

as in my kindergarten. In those years, only in my kindergarten and fourth grade I
excelled and got an honor in the class. Judge Juan Luna High School was where
I proceeded with my secondary years. Throughout those times, I believed that I
grew better than my previous performance in class during elementary since I've
been a consistent honor student back then except in my seventh grade. Because
they only awarded the top four in our class, leaving the top five to ten in dismal.
After moving up, I decided to enroll in Our Lady of Fatima University for my
senior high school as my first choice university didn't admit my submission. Even
though I didn't receive any academic awards, I still got some awards in various
subjects, subject excellence awards.
This year has been arduous for all of us, especially for us students.
Despite all these, I will still aim to persevere my purposes; finish a degree, take a
two-year course in accountancy, pass the board exam for CPA, and find a stable
job that feeds my passion as well as my family's needs and wants. If also given
an opportunity, I aspire to be a part of the military. I want to be a soldier
someday. As cliché as it seems, I regarded my mother as my role model. She is
my inspiration and motivation throughout my journey in this life. She's my number
one supporter, adviser, and critique. Every time I feel dispirited, she gives me
hope and tells me that I am the best. Also, aside from my mother, my family is
especially my role model. They are my spirit.

I can say that I succeeded if I feel happy and contented even in the
simplest way possible. It will also count as success when I finally see genuine
bliss and a smile on the faces of my family and the people around me. Success
isn't only on the things that you received as a reward and the ones that will
benefit you, but the happiness you feel upon the sight of the people you love
being glad and satisfied. As opposed to what I mentioned about success is what
failure means to me.
