NARRATIVE REPORT

(title: __________________)

Education has been a key part to society since the beginning of time. Without education
we would still be outside living primitively, without any math, science and English language.

Distance learning is usually a course in which teachers post reading assignments, and
schedules on website, and students send in their assignments by email. Everyone has their own
experience with distance learning. The problem is that everyone learns differently, and has their
own ways of processing information. The fact that the teacher or professor is speaking to you
face to face is really beneficial to some students. Distance education, also called distance
learning, and is the education of students who may not always be physically present at school.
Traditionally, this usually involved correspondence courses wherein the students
corresponded with the school via mail. Distance learning has a lot of benefits that make it really
a strong and prospective competitor against a traditional education. For example, attending a
distance course, learners can study at their own place, time and speed, choose individual and
flexible schedules and combine different activities simultaneously. There are many different
methods that are used in the distance education.
First, students have access to tutors and receive feedback from them. Video conferences
and e-mail are the assisting tools in it. Secondly, students have an access to the same
educational resources; the programs of training very seldom differ and access to libraries is also
free. Thirdly, students are full members of communities of graduates who render assistance in
job search.
Efficiency of the distance learning is defined by the combination of five key factors
allowing students to keep more information, to increase awareness, to achieve the best result
of work and to increase the coefficient of profitability of invested capital. Memorability provides
a better understanding of the studied material for distance learners. Flexibility presupposes the
possibility to teach distance students with different level of background knowledge as well as
with different capabilities. Assistance or tutorship helps distance learners to minimize the
number of questions and problem connected with the studying material. Accessibility allows
students to study any time suitable for them anywhere they want.
My personal attitude to the distance education is quite ambiguous as on the other hand,
it truly has a lot of benefits for students and can solve many educational problems in the future.
But on the other hand, I cannot imagine student life without attending lectures, communicating
with group mates and teachers, passing exams, receiving good or bad grades, loving stories
and much more fascinating stuff that is worthy for going to the campus.
In the end, it can be said that along with some advantages and flexibility, online
education or distance learning also has some cons and disadvantages linked. Despite all these
things, distance learning is gaining popularity in last few years among students like never
before and many students are satisfied with this learning experience. With further
developments in technology and more training to adapt teachers to this way of learning, the
disadvantages and cons of distance learning can soon be sorted out
As I heard the news about the pandemic case that is rising on the television, I thought a
lot of things on how should I taught my lessons to learners. As the television continues to role,
some critics said a lot of ideas on how we continue the next school year and some said that we
must not. But the higher position in the government proclaimed that the education is one of the
most essential needs that must be attained of the learners to foster their skills which will guide
and support them in advancing towards the ever changing world, especially when we talk about
the pandemic. At the end of the brain stormed system for education, which is scrutinized by the
experts, it is concluded by means of using: synchronous or asynchronous teaching; and
learning resources for learners who do not have internet connection.

September is the month where we started our distance learning. It is difficult for us
because of some adjustments in the field of teaching-learning. Thoughts are gathering in my
mind on how will I able to assess my students because of the distance wherein we cannot
observe their actions or check the authenticity of their answers in the modules that we
provided. Some teachers use new technologies on providing good assessment on their practical
activities but have a lot of difficulty when it comes to learners who are socially inclined. Well, as
the profession says: “a teacher must always be flexible”.

Learners also had a lot of difficulty in answering their modules. They struggle to answer
all of the activities and assessment because of the small time alloted

As time passed by, we coped with the demands of the new teaching-learning
environment. There are some problems that we encounter like: parents who do not send or
receive their child’s modules in the given time; printing machines that failed to cooperate; and
some teachers who did not organize their modules before they give it back to the advisers.

At the end, we found success! Despite of the struggles that we face, we always has a
strong sense of discernment that this pandemic that we face which change our teaching-
learning environment will soon be over! May all the struggles and endeavours that I walked will
guide me to become a more competitive individual. I hope that my journey will help me to
teach a lot of learners and guide me to produce a globally competitive individual.
