Summary
In this era information is very important. We can get information from anywhere. Computer is one
of some facilities that we can use to get information. We need fast respond computer to get information
faster. RAM is important component for computer and laptop. This component determine system
performance whether it fast or slow. RAM can be added to a computer or laptop.

Introduction
Technology era has been progress very fast in a couple of year.Computer as a technology item has
been evolve from generation to generation. In this era fast and great specification of computer is
needed to help us doing our job. Many people grumbling about lag computer or slow loading
computer.One of important thing in computer is Called RAM, this important component is determine
system speed while work. Every computer have RAM but not every computer have big RAM. In this case
we can add RAM in our computer to upgrade computer system speed.

Random-access memory, or RAM, is an essential component in all devices, from PCs to

smartphones to game consoles. Without RAM, doing just about anything on any system would be much,
much slower. On the flip side, not having enough for the application or game you’re trying to run can
bring things to a crawl or even prevent them from running at all.

RAM is a high-speed component that temporarily stores all the information a device needs both right
now and imminently. Accessing data in RAM is insanely fast, unlike hard drives that are slower but
provide long-term storage. If this is all semantics and you need to know how to install some RAM or
want to find out how much RAM you need, we have guides for that, too.

Computer random access memory (RAM) is one of the most important components in
determining your system’s performance. RAM gives applications a place to store and access data on a
short-term basis. It stores the information your computer is actively using so that it can be accessed
quickly. The more programs your system is running, the more you’ll need. SSDs (solid state drives) are
also important components and will help your system reach its peak performance.

The speed and performance of your system directly correlate to the amount of RAM you have
installed. If your system has too little RAM, it can be slow and sluggish. But on the opposite end, you can
install too much with little to no added benefit. There are ways to see if your computer needs more
memory, and to make sure you are buying memory that is compatible with the other components in
your system. Generally, components are created to the highest standard at the time of manufacture, but
with the expectation that technology will continue to change.To prevent users from inserting
incompatible memory, modules are physically different for each memory technology generation. These
physical differences are standard across the memory industry. One of the reasons for industry-wide
standardization in memory is that computer makers need to know the electrical parameters and
physical shape of the memory that can be installed in their computers

The proposed outcomes of the practicum study included: we know about RAM and we know how to add
RAM in our computer or pc by our self

Methods
1. Gather supplies. Clear off your installation space and make sure you’re working in a static-safe
environment. To do this, remove any plastic bags or papers from your workspace. Then, you’ll need
the following items:
 Your laptop computer
 RAM
 Screwdriver
 Owner’s manual
2. Shut down your laptop computer. Because your files, documents, and data are on your storage drive;
not your random access memory, they remain unaffected by installing RAM.
3. Unplug the power cable.
4. Remove the battery. Consult your owner’s manual for specific instructions. If your laptop doesn’t
have a removable battery, you don’t need to do this.
5. Hold the power button for 5 seconds. This discharges any residual electricity still in the system. If
your battery is not removable, there’s no need to hold the power button down.
6. Open the case. For instructions about opening your specific system, consult its owner’s manual. You
can also take pictures with your phone to see where cables or screws are attached to make it easier
to put back together.
7. Ground yourself. Touch an unpainted metal surface – this is an extra safeguard that protects your
memory and components from static damage during the installation process.
8. Remove existing memory modules. Pull the side clips away from the module to release it. Then take
the RAM modules out of the slots.
9. Install RAM. Holding the modules along the edges, align the notches on the module with the ridge in
the slot, then apply even pressure and firmly press the module in. It usually takes about 30 pounds of
pressure to fully install the module.
10.Close the laptop case and reinstall the battery.

Discussion and Conclusion
