RA 9163 is known as the National Service Training Program (NSTP) 2001. It is an
act establishing the NSTP for tertiary level student. It is a program that aimed at enhancing civic consciousness and defense preparedness in the youth, by developing the ethics of service and patriotism while undergoing training in any of its three program components: Civic Welfare Training (CWTS) and Reserve Training Officer Training Corps (ROTC), especially designed to enhance the youth’s active contribution to the general welfare. The ROTC designed to provide military training to tertiary level students to enhance their physical preparedness. The CWTS designed to improve the betterment of the general welfare of the society. Upon reading the RA 9163 also known as NSTP Program, I’ve learned that it promotes to student to have a value education, spirit of patriotism and nationalism, it also helps to develop discipline to the students and helps to develop love to others and to the country. It also includes the importance of this activity for youth development. More knowledge on this topic could prove useful to understanding the purpose of this study as an opportunity for the youth to directly contribute to nation building.
