The purpose of the study is to give knowledge and information to senior high school
students grade 11 and 12 about the Insomnia and Internet addiction. Many senior high school
students are prone to gadgets and technology especially that they are in a distance learning or
online class due to the pandemic.
INTERNET ADDICTION
It is a mental health condition that has an overuse of the internet. It is automatically identified as a
mental health disorder because of the addictiveness of a person on the Internet. (Techopedia 2013).
ONLINE CLASS
It is an education that takes place via the Internet and is sometimes referred to as "e-learning" among
other labels. It has been a great influence to higher levels of high school over the past years, and up to this
day it is still in demand, due to the pandemic. (According to Stern, Ph. D. 2019)
Theoretical
Framework
Theoretical underpinnings of internet Addiction and it's association with
psychopathology in adolescence
According to Shawn Taylor et al. (2017) Internet addiction (IA) indicates a substantial association with
depression, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and time spent on the internet based on cognitive-
behavioral frameworks and social skill theory.
This phenomenon is known as sleep state misperception. Insomnia is often accompanied by hyperexcitability,
which is supported by physiological, psychological, behavioral, and cognitive factors10. Psychological and
behavioral hyperexcitability can be caused by trying to sleep (ie, sleep exercise). Patients can "strive for
sleep", adopt strict nocturnal routines, and engage in avoidance and safety behaviors (for example, living
around sleep and usually afraid of sleep deprivation at night). Embraces upcoming events that need to deviate
from their route.

Research Approach
The research approach that the researcher had conducted on is a quantitative
approach. Where the researchers will measure the level of insomnia and internet addiction of
grade 11 and 12 students in online classes.
Research Design
The research design that the research used is Non-experimental. Under of Non-
experimental is the comparative research design for them to compare the internet addiction
and insomnia of the Senior High School.
Population and Sampling
The sampling technique that the researchers used is non- probability sampling and under with
that researchers used snowball sampling and quota sampling technique. Snowball sampling
because researchers asked participants to identify another subject or participants who also
experienced the insomnia and internet addiction. The researchers also used the quota sampling
technique wherein the researchers ensures an equal representation of respondents which is 100
students in grade 11 and another 100 students in grade 12 under online class.
Instruments (STs)
The researchers will be using the internet addiction test and insomnia severity
index as a standardized tools for the variables. The researcher will use internet
addiction test in able to get the measures of the presence and severity of internet
addiction, The IAT is a symptom-measuring tool for the internet addiction. The
researchers will also use insomnia severity index , an instrument that was design
in able to assess the severity of both night time and day time components of
insomnia. The researcher will use the both
