Simulator Configuration
Options - Realism
MilViz aircraft are developed with an overall goal of replicating a realistic level of
accuracy in regards to operation and flight response. To this end, development
and testing are generally carried out using the highest realism settings avail-
able within the simulator.
Overall, the realism settings within Prepar3D exist in order to make simulated
flying less of a chore, as well as to remove some of the tasks which are neces-
sary in real life to ensure a safe and proper flight. Our intent is not to discourage
such use, but only to ensure that the user has the means to enjoy the aircraft
to the level at which it was designed.

flight and ignore the weight / fuel that has been set in MVAMS.
The starting fuel weight may also be configured by entering a desired number
in the fuel textbox. The sound levels are customizable; the option exists to sync the KA350i sound
with the simulator, or to manually adjust volume of the cockpit, internal en-
gine, or external engine sounds.
The MilViz KA350i also tracks the health of the aircraft engines. Engines may
be harmed through mishandling, as well as accumulate normal wear. Such
damage and wear is persistent across simulator sessions, and can be reset
here while the simulator is not running.

Device and Axis selection is simply for aiding in setting the various axis posi-
tions. Controls must still be assigned in P3D or FSUIPC.
If axis controls are assigned in P3D, ‘Invert Axis’ must be unchecked once as-
signments are made in the MVAMS, but should be checked within P3D if nec-
essary. If axis controls are assigned in FSUIPC, no calibration must be applied,
but ‘Invert Axis’ may be assigned within MVAMS.
To set a particular position, choose your device and axis, then move said axis
until it reaches the desired position (a dark grey bar will indicate it in MVAMS)
and then click the desired button. A colored line will appear at the end of the
bar.

Engine State: Explained
As previously mentioned, the KA350i tracks and saves the health of the en-
gine. This information is displayed to the user in the form of a pair of status
bars in the ‘Options’ tab in the MVAMS application, as shown to the right.
It’s important to note that this bar decreases through wear accumulated dur-
ing normal operation. From perfect condition, a full bar depleting to an empty
bar represents approximately 100 hours of operation. After that point, the air-
craft engine is extremely likely to fail during the next session.
At any point prior to this, the aircraft may be ‘serviced’ by pressing the ‘Re-
store’ button to bring the aircraft to perfect condition. Please note that the
simulator must be closed before the engine can be restored.
This increased engine wear, if not monitored and acted upon, is capable of Some of the situations that can cause greatly accelerated engine wear are:
causing an unexpected engine failure.
»» ITT exceedance at startup (30 or more seconds until failure)
Should an engine failure occur, the only method for ‘fixing’ the failed engine »» Engine overtorque, such as full power with a feathered propeller (6 or 7
is by closing the simulator and using the option within MVAMS to restore the seconds until failure)
engine to good condition.
Remember, when in doubt, stay within the limitations indicated on the instru-
mentation!
To save any changes or selections made, click the ‘Save Defaults’ button lo-
cated at the bottom of the screen (Note: If the aircraft is loaded while you
access MVAMS, it will be required to reload the aircraft before most changes
made will be present in the simulator.)
To close the MVAMS application, click on the ‘X’ in the top right corner. Note
that closing MVAMS without saving will result in the loss of any options
changed or selected.

In-Game Options
Visual Options
The ability to hide or show the visual options available for the KA350i while the
simulator is loaded is performed through the Prepar3D menu bar, under the
Add-ons menu. The entries update depending on the current visibility of the
item.
Disable/Enable TrueGlass
Also found under the Add-Ons menu is the ability to enable or disable the
TrueGlass effect.
While not technically a configuration item, also present in the KA350i is the
ability to display 2D panels for many of the systems and avionics displays
available in the product.
These panels can be viewed and selected through the Vehicle > Instrument
Panel menu on the Prepar3D menu bar (pictured to the right).
