Practical assignment

 Question (1): PICOS format:

 P(population) : high school students
 I(intervention) :health education about COVID-19 infection
 C(comparison) :students who attend the sessions and the absent
students
 O(outcome) : to follow the preventive measures of COVID-19
 S(study) : experimental study
 Research question according to PICOS format: Do these sessions
play a role in reducing spread of COIVD-19?
 Question (2): steps of the research:
1) Topic selection according to Criteria (FINER formula):
 Feasible
 Interest
 Relevant
 Ethical
 Novel
 Urgency of data needed
 Acceptability of study
 Topic: obesity and its relation with NCD
 Title : obesity
2) Identifying of the problem: NCD (non- communicable disease)

1
3) Study Objectives:
 General objective : obesity effects on prevalence of NCD
 Specific objectives:
1. obesity and diabetes
2. obesity and heart failure
3. obesity and asthma
4. obesity and stroke
 answer the research question according to PICOS:
1. Population: a group of 30 workers in restaurant.
2. Intervention: choose 15 obese individuals and 15 non obese.
3. Comparison: compare the two group
4. Outcome: obesity has effect on NCD
5. Study design: divide into two group (obese and non-obese) and
make them do sport ,then notice the result
 Research question: do obesity has an effect on NCD or not?
4) Reviewing literature: internet ,books ,journals and books
 White literature: pumped ,CINAHL, ADIS
 Grey literature: Google scholar, open grey
5) Working Hypothesis:
 Ho: null hypothesis: no difference between them
 Hi: alternative hypothesis: there is difference
 The research proves Hi and denies Ho
6) Preparing research design:
 The study could be:
1. Observational: Descriptive, Analytical and Survey.
2. Experimental: Randomized clinical trials and Field trials.
 The chosen design is cohort
2
7) Sample design:
 Many types: sample random , systemic sample , cluster
sample , stratified sample
 The selected sample design: stratified sample
8) Date collection: two types
 Primary: questionnaire, interview
 Secondary: records , history
9) Execution of project
10) Data analysis and hypothesis testing
11) Generalization and interpretation
12) Report
