Burma Crises

The nation of Myanmar, also known as Burma, is currently under the rule of

a ruthless totalitarian regime, guilty of numerous human rights violations and

target of intense international criticism. Located in Southeast Asia, on the western

border of Thailand and Laos, it has been under military rule since World War II.

Burma is mired in socioeconomic crisis stemming from the rule of the military

junta, and the citizens are suffering. The environment of Burma is being

destroyed, the people are treated inhumanely, and the country is notorious for its

contribution to global narcotics.

In the same time Burma is composed of majority Buddhist while the

minority are Muslims Despite releasing scores of political prisoners in
2012-2013 and negotiating treaties with some ethnic groups, the
transitional government has continued harsh restrictions on certain
ethnic and religious minorities, especially the Rohingya Muslims, who
live mainly in the Northwestern state of Rakhine.

In the last two years, the situation has become much worse. Allied with
the military, the “969 Movement” of extremist monks has been
spreading anti-Muslim violence beyond the Rakhine state and
throughout Burma.  In an effort to “purify” the nation, these Buddhist
supremacists have been committing rape, arson, murder and land
confiscation on a massive scale. In 2014, mobs chased out international
agencies from Rakhine state, leaving 700,000 Burmese Muslims without
medical care. Hundreds of thousands struggle to survive in
what Nicholas Kristof of the New York Times called “concentration
camps.” They are denied freedom of movement, marriage, jobs and
schooling.  At least an equal number of refugees have fled to an
unknown fate.

Nationalism

The theory of nationalism is a concept that mean that residents and ethnic

groups tend to profess a sense of identity and tend to pursue political goals in the

name of that identity and when applying this theory on the Burma crises we will

find that the anti-Muslimism movement that commit political violence against

Muslims they commit these action from the perspective that they considered the

Muslim minority foreigners and they don’t deserve the Burmese citizenship and

the government deny that Rohingya any legal or rights as they consider them

Bengals who come illegal to Burma and according to this perspective they commit

their violence against Muslim killing , raping and torturing them

In the other side the minority of muslim which constitute 7% of the total

population of Burma can apply the concept of nationalism on their favor if they
riot or stand against the anti-Muslimism riots and government as they consider

themselves one of 135 ethnic group that constitute the Burmese society

Political Realism

This one of the theories that can be used to analyze the Burma Crises as this

theory emphasize and focus on power according to this theory it can be applied

on the Ani Muslimism as they experience all sort of power against Muslim on the

perspective that as Buddhist constitute the majority and they calculate that they

have superior power compared to Muslims and they can oppose power to run

their choices as thy want and that there is no place to talk about morality as the

Muslims is a minority compared to the Buddhist morality can be applied only if

the two parties have equal presence and effect and from this point we can

understand why Buddhist use violence according to their point of view

Liberalism and internationalism

This theory can be considered the response of the nation’s especially organization

like human rights and the United Nations to stop and protect the Muslim minority

in Burma through investigating the political violence committed by the Buddhist

against Muslim and applying sanctions to push the Buddhist away and prevent

their actions against Muslims

Anarchism

It is belief in the abolition of all government and the organization of society on a voluntary,

cooperative basis without recourse to force or compulsion.it is a political philosophy that

call for self-governed based on a voluntary institutions on this base discussing the

Burmese crisis we will find that Muslims in Burma are prosecuted on that base that they

don’t belong or can’t take the identity of Burma and people who do that do it not on a

base of a certain article or even a declaration or a decision from the government but

just because people think like that they begin harming killing and abusing Muslims

voluntary

Fascism

This political theory arose after the world war 1 Fascists saw World War I as

a revolution that brought massive changes in the nature of war, society, the state, and

technology. The advent of total war and total mass mobilization of society had broken

down the distinction between civilian and combatant. A "military citizenship" arose in

which all citizens were involved with the military in some manner during the war. The

war had resulted in the rise of a powerful state capable of mobilizing millions of people

to serve on the front lines and providing economic production and logistics to support

them, as well as having unprecedented authority to intervene in the lives of citizens.

According to this point of view by the Fascist we can conclude that people in Burma as

they are governed by a military regime and a dictator one considered themselves as a

military Citizen who are ready to serve their country and be in the front line and they

intervene in the lives of citizens that is what happened as they find the Muslims in
Burma as aliens or forigners whose state in the country asif they occupy part of it an

they need to be fought to get them out and as they are considered as an enemy so it is

normal to kill them to harm them and to execute them throwing them out of the country

Geopolitics

Geopolitics is a method of studying foreign policy to understand, explain and

predict international political behavior through geographical variables. These

include area studies, climate, topography, demography, natural resources,

and applied science of the region being evaluated.

Geopolitics focuses on political power in relation to geographic space. In

particular, territorial waters and land territory in correlation with diplomatic

history. Academically, geopolitics analyses history and social science with

reference to geography in relation to politics. This Theory is cannot be applied to

our Case

Global Justice

This theory also is not applicable on the Crisis of Burma as this philosophy

concept that people who are living together have the same right like others and in

here Muslims as harmed and killed without any reason on the opposite people

denying the identity of Muslim and their belong to Burma Society
