EQUIPMENT DESCRIPTION

The TAVMAC MODEL TAV-PVRD ROUND VIBRATING SCREENS are equipment that
vibrate around its center of mass, whose vibration is provided by an electromechanical motovibrator,
provided with two eccentrics affixed to the shaft ends.
The motovibrator is fixed vertically, the upper and lower cams of which produce various types
of vibration. When moving, the upper one conditions the material to be sieved horizontally over the
screens. The lower one is responsible for the production of tangential and vertical vibrations, which
activates the material to micro-jump on the screen, thus forcing its passage through the screens
fixed on the rims, under the same conditions the rubber balls collide with the bottom of the screen.
promoting self-cleaning.
The ROUND VIBRATORY SCREENS MODEL TAV-PVRD are developed for sieving with
greater precision in the granulometric scale, being able to work with high efficiency up to 270 mesh,
being able to work with materials through dry and wet. Its system allows you to work with up to 3
decks (3 screens of different sizes simultaneously) performing a separation of 4 different types of
granulometries.

EQUIPMENT INSTALLATION
1) Fixation
TAVMAC MODEL TAV-PVRD ROUND VIBRATING SCREENS must be fixed level on a flat
base and can use:
For concrete (use 06 pieces):
 Screws with steel jackets (parabolt / prisoner type) with Ø ½ ”;
 Anchors with Ø ½ ”;
For steel (use 06 pieces)
Gra Grade 5 steel screws with Ø 1/2 ”diameter
After fixed equipment, promote the removal of the 03 locking needles indicated in the photo
below:

2) Electrical connection
TAVMAC recommends that the equipment be activated by an electrical panel with
automatic protective switches, it is recommended to install a relay for protection against phase
failure.
The motovibrators can be connected at voltages 220 (7.2 A) / 380 (4.1 A) / 440 (2.4 A) volts
x three-phase. The electric cable must be loose enough so that during the operation of the
equipment he can follow the movement and does not suffer breaks or even break through fatigue.

Page 6
The connection between cables must be made through torsion and pressing, after applying
in the contact region at least 6 turns of good quality insulating tape. The voltage set at the factory
is indicated on the equipment acc. photo below:

The installation of thermistors, temperature detectors, other devices of this type directly in
the rewinding are not viable, because with vibration these items are destroyed.
During operation, the motovibrator must not exceed 80° C / 176° F, otherwise it will be
necessary to decrease the adjustment of the cams.

Page 7
3) Supply
The equipment must be powered by a device that guarantees a continuous flow (Rotary
valve, Electromagnetic / Electromechanical Feeders, conveyor belts, etc ...). The low flow (0.3m³ /
h) should be started and dosed gradually until reaching the equipment limit. Note that the thinner
screens (lower screens or last screens) are usually full of material and the thicker screens (upper
screens or first screens) are empty (varying according to each product), this control is very important
for the best performance equipment and screen life.
The power must be directed in the center of the equipment with a device that reduces the
direct impact on the screen, thus increasing its useful life.
If necessary, use flexible hoses with lengths of at least 50 cm, leaving the ends loose, since
at start and stop the amplitude of the vibration increases considerably due to the resonance of the
cams.
4) Start of work

Before leaving the equipment, TAVMAC advises to check the tightness of the screws that
support the clamps for fixing the screens.
Observe if the motovibrator is turning in the direction indicated by the arrow on the inspection
door next to the equipment identification plates, as shown in the photo below:

Page 8
Observe if the material is moving clockwise on the screens, otherwise, the direction of rotation
of the motovibrator must be reversed.
The maximum number of recommended departures per hour is 10.
To start feeding, it is necessary to break the equipment and wait for it to stabilize in vibration,
only after releasing the material. On shutdown the process is reversed, closing the supply and
waiting for all material to come out of the equipment, then the equipment can be turned off. Reclosing
the loaded equipment can directly influence its useful life.
5) Screens

The screens are fixed by polyester resin with the aid of a tensioning device. If the screen is
assembled with little tension, the efficiency of the equipment and its useful life considerably
decrease. Due to the work system, the screens suffer wear (to a lesser extent) with the connected
equipment without material
Screens with large openings have wire wires with a larger gauge, a reinforcement ring fixed
by screws is recommended so that the screen does not come off when receiving the material load,
for thinner screens with large loads we recommend a ring with a reinforcement, that is, working with
2 screens simultaneously in the same ring (indicated for screens above # 120, using a mesh of 3 to
4 times the opening of the screen) to support the load, with the upper screen responsible for sieving
and the lower one for support.
The screens are usually made of perforated sheets, galvanized wires, nylon or stainless steel,
it is ideal that the material does not exceed 70 ° C, as the screen will undergo expansion and
consequently interference in the screening and even its early breaking.
6) Replacement of parts

After replacing any part, the equipment must be put into operation for a period of 30 minutes,
interrupt and retighten the replaced screws. If the motovibrator is changed, the entire sieve must be
assembled, operated for 30 minutes, disassembled and retightened the motovibrator.

Page 9
7) Disassembly and assembly of the equipment
To disassemble, just loosen the 6 lower claws, remove them by removing them piece by piece.
ATTENTION that the centers of the screens have lock nuts and a cap nut, if you remove the rim
without removing these items, the screen will be damaged.
8) Equipment Regulation

The equipment leaves the factory regulated with an efficiency of 50% of the vibration (it is the most
indicated power), however for some processes it is necessary to increase or decrease this number,
as follows:

Cams 1, 2 and 3 must always be in the same alignment, adjustment and

always done on cam 4.

For adjustment, loosen the internal hexagon head screw and turn the eccentric number 4
counterclockwise, after tightening the screw, as shown in the photos below:

Page 10
Upper eccentric (1 and 2)

Eccentric Less than 0% Eccentric Less than 50% Eccentric less than 100%

9) No Blind System (cleaning spheres)

Rubber spheres that act under the screens causing self-cleaning,
recommended for screens with mesh from # 20 mesh, and can be used in all
the measures. This device increases the screening efficiency.
The spheres are assembled with Ø 1 ”and are efficient up to Ø 19mm, after reaching the
inferior measure provide the exchange. Up to mesh # 100 mesh is used 120 pieces per
deck, above this mesh 150 spheres per deck is recommended.

Page 11
10) Preventive Maintenance
A re-tightening of the equipment's screws should be performed after every 500 hours of
operation.
11) Lubrication

The motovibrator bearings are mounted with a shielding system and suitable grease so that
they do not need periodic inspection, TAVMAC recommends disassembly, removal of old grease,
analysis (bearing and shaft conditions), assembly and lubrication (fill 100% of the space bearing
free) every 5,000 continuous hours of work or 12 months with MOLYKOTE LONGTERM 2 PLUS
grease
Note: This time is estimated due to history with some customers, each company must adapt
to the best results obtained.
