Differences Between Americans, Europeans, and Indonesians Culture
Americans American culture includes the traditions and customs of the United States.
“Religion, food, clothing, how to wear it, language, marriage, music, belief in
what is right or wrong, how to greet guests, how to treat our loved ones, and many
other things.”
The United States of America is the third largest country in the world with a
population of more than 325 million. More specifically, a child is born every 8
seconds, and a person dies every 12 seconds according to the United States
Census Bureau.
In addition to Native Americans, immigrants from several countries also
contribute to the total population of this country. Despite recent measures to close
US borders to new immigrants and refugees, each new immigrant comes to
America every 33 seconds, according to the Census Bureau.
This makes the United States one of the most culturally diverse countries in the
world. Almost all regions of the world have influenced the formation of culture in
America, especially the British who colonized this country in the early 1600s, in
addition to the cultures of Native Americans, Latin Americans, Africans, and
Asians.
· Language
The United States has no official language, by virtue of its government. Nearly all
the world's languages are spoken in the United States, but most are
languages other than English, such as Spanish, Chinese, French, and
German. Ninety percent of the United States population speaks and
understands at least some English, and most official businesses use
English. Some states have an official or preferred language. For example,
English and Hawaiian are the official languages in Hawaii.
The Census Bureau estimates that there are more than 300 languages spoken in
America. The Bureau divides the languages into categories: Spanish; other
Indo-European languages, including German, Yidis, Swedish, French,
Italian, Russian, Polish, Hindi, Punjabi, Greek, and some others;
languages of Asian and Pacific Islanders, including Chinese, Korean,
Japanese, Thai, Tamil and others'. “Other languages,” here belongs to the
category of languages that do not fall into the three main categories, such
as Hungarian, Arabic, Jewish, African, and the languages of the official
inhabitants of North, Central, and South America.
· Religion
Nearly all of the well-known religions are adhered to by residents of the United
States, which were founded on religious freedom. About 71% of
Americans are Christian, according to information compiled by the Pew
Research Center, a non-party research group, in 2017. The study also
found that 23% of the population has no religion, and 6% is non-Christian.

Dress styles vary based on social status, region, occupation, and weather. Jeans,

American brands.
American fashion is generally influenced by celebrities and the media, and
fashion sales are equivalent to $200 billion a year, according to a 2007
publication by Harvard University. More Americans are buying fashion
and electronics online. According to the Census Bureau, US retail e-
commerce sales for the first quarter of 2007 totaled $98.1 billion.
· American Cuisine
American cuisine was influenced by Europeans and Native Americans in its early
history. Today, there are a number of foods that are known to have
originated in America, such as hamburgers, hot dogs, potato chips,
macaroni and cheese, and meatloaf. The term “Apple pie as if it came
from America” already has the meaning of something originating in
America.
There are also several cooking styles and types of food that are identical to certain
regions. The Southern style of cooking is often called “America's Favorite
Food” and includes foods such as fried chicken, mustard greens, and
cornbread. Tex-Mex, popular in Texas and the Southwest, is a blend of
Spanish and Mexican cooking styles and includes ingredients such as chili
peppers, burritos, and the flavor relies on grated cheese and nuts. Jerky, a
dry meat served as a snack, is also a food made in the United States,
according to NPR.
· Art
The United States is widely recognized worldwide as a leader in mass media
production, including television and film. According to the United States
Department of Commerce, the country accounts for a third of the world's
media and entertainment industry.
The television broadcasting industry began operating in the United States in the
early 1950s, and television programs in America are now broadcast
worldwide. The United States also has a dynamic film industry, centered
in Hollywood, California, and popular American films around the world.
The American film industry grossed $31 billion in 2013, and is forecast to
reach $771 billion in 2019, according to the U.S. Department of
Commerce.
The art culture of the United States extends beyond films and television shows.
New York is home to Broadway, and Americans have a rich theater
history. American folk art is an artistic style and is easily recognizable
with quilts and other handcrafted items. American music is very diverse
with many styles, including rhythm and blues, jazz, gospel, country and
western, bluegrass, rock 'n' roll, and hip hop.

from all over the world. The diversity of tourist attractions, cultures, and different
cuisines from many countries on this continent is a special attraction that enchants

classical era provided the basis for philosophical discourse that continues
today. Christian thought had a profound influence on many areas of
European philosophy (just as European philosophy has had on Christian
thought as well).

European art covers the history of fine art in Europe. Prehistoric European art
began as cave painting and rock painting, and is characteristic of the period
between the Paleolithic and the Iron Age. Art in Europe is organized into a
number of periods with distinct styles which historically overlap with each other
as the different styles developed. also in different areas. Overall the periods are
Classical, Byzantine, Medieval, Gothic, Renaissance, Baroque, Rococo,
Neoclassical, and Modern, Postmodern.
Indonesian Indonesia's cultural diversity comes from various local cultures that continue to
s grow and develop in their communities. As for the emergence of cultural diversity
as a result of visible and growing influences in society so as to create culture
itself.
As time goes by, cultural development has a role and function to increase the
nationalist spirit. This is because local culture contains social values that need to
be applied by each Indonesian society itself.
· Traditional ceremonies
Traditional ceremonies are a form of customs or habits of traditional communities
which are thought to still have relevant values for the life and needs of the
surrounding community. This is felt as a form of human effort to be in
touch with the spirits or spirits of the ancestors and a form of the ability of
the surrounding community to harmonize themselves with nature and the
wider environment.
Traditional ceremonies are known as one of the ancestral heritage of each region
that has been guarded and preserved from generation to generation.
Although the times are increasingly advanced and sophisticated,
traditional ceremonies are not forgotten by some people, especially people
who are thick with customs. This is because the traditional ceremony is

Traditional clothing is one of the characteristics of certain ethnic groups in

This variety of Indonesian culture persists and the rapid development of modern

function, and culture behind the style or design of the building.
Each traditional house owned by 34 provinces in Indonesia certainly has its own
characteristics. The traditional house itself can be used as a residence or
residence for a certain ethnic group and can also be a historic place, and is
used as the implementation of traditional ceremonies.

· Traditional weapons
Traditional weapons are cultural products that are closely related to a particular

to various forms of cultural diversity, one of which is regional specialties.
As an archipelagic country with fertile soil and can grow various types of plants,
Indonesia is rich in spices.
