What is the CBBC Brain Buster?

Did you know that earth, wind, fire and water are the four essential elements needed in life to live! Without
them even CBBC wouldn't exist…neither would you! CBBC Brain Buster has brought together the elements
of life, to test your knowledge and give you super duper busting facts. But don't worry if you don't know
the answers when you first have a go - as you will do soon enough and may even become the master of
knowledge and wisdom, but only after you've played the CBBC Brain Buster!

How to make:
Tip: use blue dotted lines when folding. ALways ask an adult to help using when using scissors

1. Using scissors, cut along the outside dark blue border of the Brain Buster template. Then flip CBBC logo and
four elements (EARTH, WIND, FIRE AND WATER) face down.

2. Fold in half diagonally both ways to get central point. Then open up again and make sure the illustrated
side is faced down.

3. Fold in four corners to the centre. You should see four CBBC logos form a square in the middle and the
CBBC brands surrounding it.

4. Turn over, so questions and answers are now face up.

5. Fold corners in again so you only see CBBC brand names

6. Fold square in half horizontally to create a rectangle

7. Place rectangle with CBBC logos facing you

8. Now slip thump and index fingers under the flaps for each side and push upwards to form a pyramid.
You are now ready to play!

How to play:
1. Play in pairs or in a group. One person should be assigned as the quiz master and also take the score. The
other person/or group make the choices. They are referred to as the choice master/masters

2. The choice master/masters choose an element. The quiz master then spells out the element while
moving the Brain Buster. For example, for WIND, you will move it four times.

3. Then open up the Brain Buster and it will reveal four CBBC related brands - there are eight brands to total.

4. Choice master/masters then pick a brand.

5. Quiz master opens the flap to reveal the question and the answer is directly underneath it.

6. Keep playing until all eight questions are completed.
