PART 1
The bar chart shows purchase price, the cost of warranty and running costs of
three photocopiers: Carda, KD and Sebu. Carda has the lowest purchase price
which is 600 $, but also has the biggest running costs - 1,200$. Additionally, it
will be also the most expensive for initial 2-year period. The warranty costs
achieved 100$ which is medium level price out of these photocopiers. ?? KD is
typically medium class which costs more than Carda (700$) and what is
interesting has the biggest warranty price – 200$. For KD’s running costs
decrease to are smaller 900$ in comparison with Carda (1200$). Sebu is the
more expensive, its price is 1050$, but it has the lowest warranty costs (50$)
and running costs (650$). Additional characteristic for KD and Sebu is even
total costs for initial 2-year period which is 1800$.

Good realisation of the task. However, there are some mistakes related to
appropriate vocabulary and with conveying the meaning in one sentence. For
such work during exam a student could receive 7 points
PART 2
Proposal
Introduction
The purpose of this proposal is to suggest some improvements in our financial
team, which can make our work faster and boost its quality.
Current status
From one of our stakeholders we received invoices via e-mail, where in
attachment we can find .zip file. We receive invoices via e-mail, where in
attachment we can find .zip file, from our stakeholders. Disadvantage of this
process is that each of invoice must be send in separate e-mail to our scanning
team. It causes necessity of creating more than 150 e-mails to our scanning team
which is time consuming and in effect creates extra/additional over hours.
Potential improvements
After conversation with our project manager and automation team we identified
two improvements. First one can be implement earlier by our automation team.
They ought to write VBA script to create macro which can streamline the
process of sending all these e-mails. Second improvement is more advanced but
also worth to considering. The idea is to create tool for our stakeholders which
right after issuing the invoice will send them directly to our workflow in SAP.

Benefits
Two of our potential improvements can save time of our employees and in
result save money for our company. If employee post these invoices on time we
do not have overdue payments which definitely is a big benefit.
Recommendations
I therefore recommended to choose first improvement, because it is quicker and
result will be seen earlier which is important for our financial team. Moreover,
second improvement is bigger so we can analyse it, gain the details and check if
it is worth to carry out.
Very good organisation and completed realisation of the task. Medium range of
vocabulary, some mild grammar mistakes, good choice of linking adverbs. In
general, very good. For such work during exam a student could receive 15
points

In total writing 22 points = 73% = 191points level C1 which means that a

student pass writing part of Business English Certificate Higher exam

Essay

Finding replacements for cars

Nowadays more and more people are becoming aware of their impact on
environment pollution. Among many actions people can take to slow down this
process is reducing car use. Besides helping the environment, striking down
cars for other forms of transport has other advantages like dwindling noise of
traffic or diminishing traffic jams in the city center. That is why governments
are aiming for the best possible method to encourage citizens to reduce private
car use. In this essay I will discuss two possible actions that governments could
introduce to reach its objective.

The first of these is paying obligatory taxes for parking in the city center. This
would encourage people to find a replacement for their usual form of transport,
which are cars. However, that could lead to overloading public transport and
deterioration of the comfort. On the one hand introducing taxes would
discourage the use of private cars but one the other hand people who work in
the center of the city are usually wealthy enough to pay these additional costs.
Not only would not the method bring the expected outcome but also it could
aggravate citizens’ approach to their government.

Moving on to the second method, governments should take into consideration

improving public transport. Cleaner, modern subway station as well as
sufficient number of comfortable buses would definitely encourage more people
to use it. Moreover, by investing in modernization of cycle paths more citizens
would choose to cycle to work instead of spending hours in traffic jams.

In my view, even if the second method seems to be more demanding and

devoting, it will bring more long-term positive effects. In comparison to the first
method, investing in public transport would feel more pleasant and attractive to
the citizens rather than paying additional taxes. Only by cooperating with
citizen’s needs, could the government reach its goals. All in all, improving
public transport would be beneficial for both parties.

Very good organisation and realisation of the task. Wide range of vocabulary,
advanced grammar structure of sentences, good choice of linking adverbs. In
general, excellent. However, there are too many words in this essay exactly 324
words. It supposed to be between 220-260 words. For such work during exam a
student could receive less points due to exaggeration of word limits.

Proposal
Introduction
The aim of this proposal is to examine potential benefits from sponsoring
activities.
Type of activities
From our company perspective, while considering the most suitable activities
we should take into account the range of them, the audience and the event itself.
(I paraphrased, hope that was initial meaning of your sentence) Of course, as
always, we should also take into consideration our budget. Our target for this
year is to reach smaller customers. That is why from our company point of view
the best activities will be art exhibitions in small cities.
Benefits
This activity has big potential to reach bring/deliver us new, young customers.
In the same way, we can also see bigger possibility for free online marketing. A
lot of young artists have accounts in social medias, where they can share
information about these exhibitions. As an additional benefit, it can be
warming? improving the image of our company throughout? By means of artists
and art-enthusiasts.
Costs
Sponsoring these exhibitions would be relatively economical. The organisers
have budgeted the costs of approximately 50 000 zł. These costs include
advertisements and miscellaneous running costs. A breakdown of their
projected income reveals that they expect to receive 20 000 zł from ticket sales
and about 5 000 zł from advertising. To cover the deficit, they would therefore
require us to invest a total of 25 000 zł.
Conclusion
I recommend that we should agree to fund these exhibitions because it
represents a low-cost opportunity to achieve our annual goal and expand our
client base.

Preparation for essay based on an article about Millionaires.

In Poland, the Forbs Magazine publics a list of Polish millionaire every year.
There are Michal Salowow, Tomasz Birnacki, Zygmunt Solorz, Jerzy Starak
Dominika i Sebastian Kulczyk. They are the richest Polish people. Michal
Solowow has assets worth 16 mln pln. He is a businessman and a sportsman. I
don’t know him in person. I’ve never heard about his generousness and his
meanness. I think, every Polish rich people do everything so that people think
that they are philanthropists. I think they give money to different
foundations/fund raisers, sometimes help the poor. They live in big houses,
drive expensive cars and go to warm countries. They are lucky in business or
they inherited fortune. Every day they multiply their money. They open new
business or buy new business.

REPORT
Report
Introduction
The purpose of this report is to summarise changes which we made in our
division in Krakow. The process of change takes two years but now we can see
more value added than we expected supposed.
Change of responsibilities
Two years ago, it was decided to change the way of management on assembly
line. (By)/then that time each shop-flor worker had one, but very narrow
specialisation. Our new management style took into consideration exchange of
experience within the employees and additional internal trainings. In result of
this change productivity rose by 6%.
Automation
One consequence of change of responsibilities was that we had in our staff
experts who understood whole process and help our managers to build
automation plan. Due to this cooperation, we created more effective system than
we were expected to achieve. Additionally, we prepared our employees to use
new machines in the factory. This, in turn, has meant that we can cut costs
generated by recruitment process (for about 23%) and what is more we
have/got?/acquired? our own automation specialists.
Employee of the month – award
In result of all these changes we decided to appreciate our workers for their
involvement. That is why we give one financial bonus for the worker who had
the idea about how we can increase productivity in our factory.
Conclusion
Productivity and satisfaction of our employees are the best measure of our
company’s performance. From my point of view the way we implemented
changes can be copied by other divisions.

Essay
This essay shouls include answers to these questions:

1. Why most product fail?

2. Why developers don't pay attention about previous failures?
3. What people feel when they get to this museum?

The Museum of Failed Products

I am going to discuss the following two topics in my essay:

why most product fail? and what people feel when they get to this museum.

Before I go over two topics, let me start by defining "The Museum of

failed Products". The Museum of Failed Products is the storehouse, opereted by
a company called GfK Custom Research North America.
This Museum is similar to vast and haphazardly organised supermarket, because
along every aisle, grey metal shelves are crammed with thousands of packages
of food and household products. But unlike in a real supermarket there is only
one of each item.

This is consumer capitalism's graveyard or to put it less grandly, it's almost

certainly the only place on the planet where you will find some fail products –
for example: a Touch of yogurt shampoo alongside the eq ually unpopular For
Oily Hair Only. The Museum is home to discontinued brands of caffeinated beer
and self – heating soup cans that had a regrettable tendency to explode in
customers' faces.
According to some estimates, the failure rate of most fail products is as high as
ninety percent.

In this essay I will discuss main problems which caused that most of
products fail and I will try to answer the question what people feel when they
get to this museum.

First I want to answear the question what people feel when they get to
this museum.
According to most people – when they get to this Museum they are
supriesed, sightly scared and confused because it's the dimly-lit space.
When you get inside this Museum it takes a few minutes for your eyes to adjust
to what you are seeing. Every grey metal shelves are filled with all sorts of
failed and strange products.
After visiting the Museum of Failed Products visitors are sure to surely
wonder who was the creator of failed products, why that products failed, what
final product the creators of this product wanted to achieve, why and what the
creator’s feelings were when it turned out that his product had failed – what
went wrong.
In addition, people visiting this museum are surely thinking and debating
- who, when, why and for whom someone created this museum.
Otherwise – visitors will definitly want to know why someone created
this museum in a converted granary building?
On the one hand -when people get to this museum they sympathize with
the creators of these failed products, but on the other hand they lough at the
creators of failed products, they mock them.
By contrast to another people – for example another designers who are
really suprised by such failed products and come there to examine or discover
products that their own companies had created, then abandoned. They also
contemplate the prospect of failure.

Now I would like to go to the topic: why most product fail.

Nowadays and before people love new, original and usefull products. For
example, people always love fast cars, tasty, healthy products or products that
make their lives easier (for example mobile phones, computers, bikes or even-
microvawe, oven, washing machine, sewing machines, printer, wardrobes for
clothes etc.)
Most of products fail, because most of them are unsuccesfull - doomed to
failure in advance.
People don't need unnecessary products or things. For example, we don't
need heating soup cans that had a regrettable tendency to explode in customers'
faces or a short lived-line of fortune cookies for dogs.
This product are not only unnecessary, but it can be dangerous for us –
like heating soup cans.
Product developers before and now think: how to earn more money (...),
how to earn a fortune, how to stay a millioner and how to be better then other
product developers or how to create something that no one has invented so far.
Instead of thinking about things that could help people in their daily work, in
their duties or could make their lives easier.

In my opinion – people who visit the Museum of Failed Products can be

very disappointed, because Museum of Failed Products isn't similar to a normal
museum – where people look at works of art, usefull inventions, sculptures,
paintings of famous people. Consequently, in normal museum we get know the
stories of museum's product, their makers, how to come into existence.
Hovewer, the Museum of Failed Products help other people, for example
other creators, avoid the mistakes of their rivals, predecessors.
I honestly feel that most products fail because their producers instead of
thinking about creating useful things, think about money and about how to
become famous.
Besides, people are afraid to talk about failures and often don't learn from
their own it's mistakes, therefore their product fail. I personally think it's a big
mistake, because we should learn to talk about our failures in order not to
duplicate them in the future. However, failure is everywhere.
