1. What is statistics? Write about different methods of organizing the raw data with
examples.
2. Construct the histogram form the following frequency distribution:

(a) Find the average marks obtained by students.


(b) Obtain the number of students getting the marks more than 45.
(c) Find the number of students getting marks between 35-55.
(d) Obtain the percentage of students getting marks less than 25.
(e) Find the minimum pass marks if 20% students had failed.
(f) Find the minimum marks obtained by top 25% students.
(g) Draw histogram and also locate mode.
(h) Draw less than Ogive curve and find the value of Q3, median and P40.
(i) Obtain the number of students getting the marks less than 55.

 Nepal conducted a widespread national census in 2011 A.D. by the Nepal Central
Bureau of Statistics. They recorded data from all the municipalities and villages
of each district working with the 58 municipalities and the 3915 Village
Development Committees. This data included statistics on population size, sex
and age distribution, religion, language spoken, ethnic groups and so on. The total
size of population was found out to be 26,494,504 whereas the population was
23,151,423 according to the census conducted 10 years ago. Research
about the raw data obtained in the census held in 2011 A.D. and complete the
following questions:

A. Construct a histogram for age group keeping class interval as 20 years. Also, draw
bar graph.
B. Construct a pie chart for most populous ethnic groups (Chettri, Brahmin, Magar,
Tharu, Tamang, Newar, Sanyasi, Kami, Yadav and others)
C. Draw an Ogive curve for Female age group and Find Median.
D. Construct a pie chart for population in geographical regions.
E. Find out annual population growth rate from 2001 to 2011.
