INTRODUCTION

Product

Our product are comic magazines for children between 8 and 13 years old where relevant

topics, such as politics and culture, for example, are taught in a creative way, also including

the active participation of children in the construction of the story comic.

We offer to be a creative space through comic, where children genuinely show interest to

know their world and society. The comic tool allows to simplify complex dynamics that

occur nowadays in our world by making representations of how the society is configured

and how it configures us.

Our idea is to distribute the magazine in schools in the city of Bogotá, so that children who

are in third to fifth grade can read it and the magazine comic can be adapted to the needs of

the classes according to the subject class.

OBJECTIVES

General Objective

- Innovate and offer a new educational alternative for children about history and

social problems content.

Specifics Objectives

- Adapte complicated topics to a young public.

- Analize children and teachers' perceptions about the different alternatives to learn

and teach.

JUSTIFICATION

Social contribution

We live in a changing world. Over the course of time, human beings have developed all

kinds of needs depending on the circumstances and, as a result, have had to adapt to their

entire environment. Many of the traditional foundations, established at the beginning of the

history of civilisations, have undergone these changes; for instance, the social position of

women, religion, politics, politics, etc. However, although our perception of knowledge has

also changed, the main basis has not.

Education methodology has not undergone major reforms in its structure. It is

increasingly common to hear students and teachers differing on how class lessons

techniques have remained “the same” and disagreeing about how to make them more

“dynamic”. From here, is where our project starts. This magazine was created with these

requirements in mind, focusing its intentionality on child education providing them new

tools and methods to perceive society problems. We aspire to increase social awareness and

in parallel to introduce a motivation of reading in the new generations.

CONCLUSION

Benefits

Nowadays it is more difficult to make children develop interest in reading, even more if the

reading treats topics related with the reality of our contexts. Taking this into account our

magazine will adapt to the necessities and requirements of the children, that is to say, that

through different ways of reading children would develop not only a habit of reading but

also critical thinking from a young age.

Also it is important to take into account the advantages of developing a critical thinking

since young ages, some studies have shown that critical thinking have multiple benefits in

children, Kylie Rymanowicz from the University of Michigan, says that children that are

capable of develop a critical thinking would develop as well skills of communication and

solving problems, that are so important for find ways to deal with the different situations

and problems in our daily life and society.
