Novaliches is a large edge district of Quezon City in Metro Manila, the Philippines, located to
the northeast of Manila city center. The district is quite large, covering nearly 12 thousand

commercial areas, as well as small industrial zones and recreational facilities. (Where is

addition of half of Novaliches to QC increased its area to over 15,000 hectares. Since then, a
series of amendments to the original QC charter have resulted in the city's current area of
171.17 square kilometers, or 17,171 hectares. (How QC became biggest LGU in Metro Manila.

and residential housing in every baranggay in Novaliches are reflected in its architecture and
the evolution of houses including the Nagkaisang Nayon, Quezon City. Apart from it due some
strong earthquake and other strong natural calamities can easily how the structures are getting
ruptured from time to time.

Nagkaisang Nayon is one of the barangays in Quezon City that uses bungalow and Tsalet as
residential-type housing. According to Evolution of Houses in the Philippines in the Last 100
Years bungalows are the most common type of house in the Philippines. They are described as
low-rise houses with a horizontal shape and a pitched roof. The roof is typically made of
galvanized iron, while the walls are made of concrete. (Evolution of houses in the Philippines in
the last 100 years. (2021, June 5). Lamudi.) According to UN office for Disaster Risk
Reduction, the hazard and vulnerablity profile in Quezon City as being the heart of Metro
Manila is prone to disaster risks and natural calamities. (Quezon - Philippines - City profile -

friendly and sustainable materials in all aspects.

While considering the fact that the construction industries are the major consumers of natural
resources all over the world, many researches have been carried out on the use of naturally
available renewable resources in construction. Bamboo is an example of an environmentally
sustainable material that has quickly evolved from a poor man's tree to a valuable industrial
resource. In the Philippines, there are 62 bamboo species, and only 21 are native Philippine
bamboos. A design of residential building using bamboo can withstand earthquake and other
strong natural calamities is important since natural calamities are a permanent fixture of
everyone’s life.
