Eligibility Criteria for Private Candidates to Appear in MA / MSc 2nd Annual


Examination 2019 / 1st Annual Examination 2020.
Private candidates may appear in MA/MSc Examination in the following subjects.
• English • International Relations
• Urdu • Economics
• Islamic Studies • Arabic
• Pakistan Studies • Punjabi
• History • Mathematics.
• Political Science
The detailed criteria are given below.
Part-1 Examination.
Private candidates falling in the following categories are eligible to appear in Part-1
Examination.
• Fresh candidates who passed Bachelor of Arts/Science/Commerce or equivalent Annual/
Supplementary Examination 2019 or before. However, the candidates who passed
supplementary/ 2nd Annual Examination 2019 or spring 2019 (of AIOU) as a whole
/ in all subjects are not eligible. Moreover, for MSc Mathematics, only those candidates
are eligible who passed BSc (2 year) with Mathematics A Course and B Course or Pure
Mathematics and Applied Mathematics or Mathematics (General) and Mathematics B Course
as elective subjects.
• Compartment / Failed as Whole candidates who availed 1st chance of Part-1 in the relevant
subject in 2nd Annual Examination 2018 or later.
• Marks/Division Improvement candidates who passed MA/MSc Part-2 in the relevant subject
in 2nd Annual Examination 2017 or later.
Composite Examination.
Private candidates falling in the following categories are eligible to appear in Composite
Examination.
• Fresh candidates who passed Bachelor of Arts/Science/Commerce or equivalent Annual/
Supplementary Examination 2018 or before. However, the candidates who passed
supplementary/ 2nd Annual Examination 2018 or Spring 2018 (of AIOU) as a
whole / in all subjects, are not eligible Moreover, for MSc Mathematics, only those
candidates are eligible who passed BSc (2 year) with Mathematics A Course and B Course or
Pure Mathematics and Applied Mathematics or Mathematics (General) and Mathematics B
Course as elective subjects.
• Compartment / Failed as Whole candidates who availed 1st chance of Composite in the
relevant subject in 1st Annual Examination 2018 or later.
• Marks/Division Improvement candidates who passed MA/MSc Composite in the relevant
subject in 2nd Annual Examination 2017 or later.
Part-2 Examination
Private candidates falling in the following categories are eligible to appear in Part-2
Examination.
• Fresh candidates who availed 1st chance of Part-1 in the relevant subject in 1st Annual
Examination 2017 or later and passed Part-1.
• Fresh candidates who availed 1st chance of Part-1 in the relevant subject in 2nd Annual
Examination 2018 or later and either passed Part-1 or passed 50% papers of Part 1 securing
minimum 45% aggregate marks
• Compartment / Failed as Whole candidates who availed 1st chance of Part-2 in the relevant
subject in 1st Annual Examination 2018 or later.
• Marks/Division Improvement candidates who passed MA/MSc Part-2 in the relevant subject
in 2nd Annual Examination 2017 or later.
