Select one project out of the following list and prepare a report of one page to be
uploaded on Teams/General/Homework. The report should be uploaded by 20 July
2021. There will be a viva based on this project between 21 July to 31 July.

1. Alternative Sources: Green and Clean Growth


English: Energy resources are very much important
in the context of economic development of the
country. Express your views on it.
Physics: Bio energy is one of many diverse
resources available to help meet our demand for
energy. It is a form of renewable energy that is
derived from recently living organic materials known
as biomass, which can be used to produce transportation fuels, heat, electricity,
and products. Suggest two methods to use biomass to address the issue of
energy crisis and environmental threat.

2. Mixed Reaction: Nuclear Energy


Physics: India was one of the first countries to adopt nuclear power technology
with commissioning of the Tarapur power station in 1969, still the power
generation by harnessing nuclear energy is not used in every part of the country.
Discuss the limitations associated with it. Draw a graph to compare the electricity
produced by wind, water, biomass, solar and nuclear energy in India
English: Nuclear energy can be a boon or a bane for mankind. Express your
views.

3. Cheetah: The World’s Fastest Land Animal


Biology- Cheetah the world's fastest land animal which was
declared extinct in India in 1952, is expected to be re-introduced into
the country in November .The country's last spotted cheetah died in
Chhattisgarh in 1947 and it was declared extinct in the country in
1952.The Wildlife Institute of India (WII) some years back prepared a
cheetah re-introduction project.

Explore the details about this project. The guidelines are given below:

a) Which natural reserve is involved in this project and where is it located?


b) What factors have been studied to make the re-introduction successful?
c) Find out some facts:
i) How fast can a cheetah run?
ii) What allows cheetahs to run so fast?
iii) What needs to be kept in mind while selecting its habitat?
iv) Leopard Vs Cheetah-What’s the difference?

English: “NURTURE YOUR TRUE FRIEND”

● Create a mini version of a kids magazine ( 4 A4 size sheets)


● The Magazine should be based on Flaura and Fauna of Dadra and Nagar
Haveli
● Creative cover page
● A small article on wildlife -100 words and pictures
● Quiz on its Flora and Fauna (5 q)
● 5 reasons to support wildlife (one liners)
You can use drawings and pictures and page setting should be attractive.

4. DNA Fingerprinting - Past and present

Biology: DNA fingerprinting is the method of isolating and identifying variable


elements within the base-pair sequence of DNA.
1. Who invented it?
2. What are the steps involved in DNA finger printing?
3. Write the applications of DNA fingerprinting.
4. What are some concerns about the use of DNA fingerprinting?

English: Analyse critically the data collected, write in about 200 words a paragraph on
DNA Fingerprinting.

5. Fashion –A Coveted Career


English: (a) Describe what is Fashion Designing? Write your opinion in 100-120 words
about what you think about fashion designing as a career option?
(b) Find 10 terms and their meaning that every fashion student must know.
Chemistry:Fashion –Fabrics and Dyeing
a) Find out about the different kinds of fabrics both synthetic and natural which are
used in Fashion industry?
b) Are our clothes bad for environment? Explain in details whether yes or no.
c) What are fabrics dyes and how they impact the environment?

6. Adulteration in Food

Chemistry :Some of the common adulterated foods are milk and milk products, edible
oil, wheat condiments (whole and ground), pulses, tea, coffee, confectionery , baking
powder, non-alcoholic beverages, vinegar, gram flour, curry powder.

Task

1. Why are coloring agents added to food?


2. Find out the chemicals used as adulterants in food used commonly in everyday life.
3. The consumption of a certain kind of food caused Lathyrism cancer to an individual.
Find the adulterant in the food.
4. Pick up any two foods and write in detail about the adulterants used in them.
5. State a short report on impact of metallic contaminants present in foods.

English : On the basis of the information collected, frame 10 questions on the CCT
pattern. (2 MCQ’s, a word attack, 2true/false, 2 fill ups, 3 short answer questions).Also
put in appropriate pictures.
