The respiration or activity that the man is performing is called Anaerobic

Respiration. Dumbbell workout does not involve oxygen when performing the
activity. It involves a short burst of intense movement while only burning
carbohydrates for energy which is defined as Anaerobic Respiration. When lifting
heavy objects such as dumbbells, the muscles are forced to work so hard that the
lungs and bloodstream cannot deliver enough oxygen to respire the available
glucose aerobically.
