Day 1

Welcome, everyone! Miss Gilsinger and Mr. Storm are so excited to start
this unit with you! Please take out the digital notes you’ve been using in
the class so far and create a section for this unit, which will last five days.
We will be exploring heroes through history today. You will need a timer
(which can be found on a smartphone or a computer, but you can also
use a standard clock).

Engage
Bell work! Open your digital notes and answer the three bell
work questions on the first slide. Be prepared to share your
responses.

your thinking?
● What did you learn from your peers about heroes?
● How has your idea of American heroes changed now?
● What did not change?
● How could this be important in your life?
● What are 2 new ideas you have now about heroes?
