uneducated and underprivileged people of the country. The main objective of the Internship is
to get exposure to the real world, putting the theory to practical use. This is an ideal way to
learn about an industry and to build good relationship with a prospective employer as well as
giving one a chance to simply hone his/her skills.

This wonderful opportunity to work at an NGO like this along with people who are of my age
and are doing such great things to help the society.

Introduction
Estah was established as a society in 2009 and re-registered as a trust in 2014 with the intent
of supporting and encouraging rural people especially farmers to achieve sustained economic
growth through agriculture and community development.

We are working with over 14 like-minded established corporations, investors and leading
influencers from politics, science and social sectors to bring about a revolution right from the
very niche- the rural areas.

We have been able to positively impact and benefit 46,59,866 people directly since Estah
originated!

Most of Estah’s beneficiaries are farmers and youth.

Vision
Estah idealistically aims to transform the conventional methods of agriculture and the lives of
the farmers through an amassed and a potentially viable effort with the help of various
programs designed specifically for the purpose of training the farmers on the concepts of
sustainable and natural farming techniques.

Our vision is to create an asset-based community where there are no undue losses to the
farmers and the people within the community.

Mission
Estah helps farmers in tackling problems that arise in agricultural pratices by training them in
more socioeconomic models of farming such as-

• CSA- Community Supported Agriculture,

• Zero-Budget Farming
• Use of Organic Fertilizers and Pesticides,
• Multi-Cropping and Integrated Farming and,
• A special program designed by Estah’s founder, Mr. Atchuta Rao called FACT which
stands for- Farmer and Consumer Technology– a concept of Smart Agriculture.

Description of the work
At the first month of my work I was given task on to find the good Samaritan work done by
NSS Officers (National Service Scheme) and this was done through public information
provided at their website. I made a report on these NSS Officers along with the certain
criteria to make them eligible for certification and then my superior verify my work to
proceed ahead for certification. This was my domain project.

As for my main project, women on run, my team which consisted of 10 people, from various
domain we came together to plan an event on how to empower women and make them self-
independent. My part was to search for eligible speakers who can make an impact for the
people who are going to attend the event. I was successfully able to find 6 speakers who
spoke at the event which was conducted on 14th August. The event was conducted on the
zoom platform, there were 80 participants who attended the event which was an absolute
success, my team received many appreciations from the founder, speakers and participants
for the hard work done at a short span of time.

Most of the research work was basic which I was given and I learned only a fraction of what
is actually being done in the corporate space.

The pictures for the event are as follows:-

Main Text
THE SPIRIT OF COUNSEL

The word Estah essentially means “to counsel”, “to advise”, and “to direct”.

Estah’s essence lies in the propagation of wisdom and sustainability through the spirit of
counselling.

ESTAH operates in various villages in Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka, and Tamil
Nadu and works towards the training and counselling of farmers in the execution of
fundamental practices like natural farming, horticulture, and economically sustainable
farming methods, which is the primary impelling cause of our organization.

ELEMENTS OF ESTAH

1. FACT- (FARMER & CONSUMER TECHNOLOGY)

Farmer and Consumer Technology– abbreviated as FACT- is an integrated chain of training

activities that involves both the farmers and the consumers, taking care of the overall needs of
both the symbionts inside a social circle and food ecosystem. In addition to that, improving
the soil conditions and health is also one of the goals.

2. NATIONAL FARMATHON

National Farmathon is the first-of-its-kind event that attempts to bring together those who
support, and those involved in natural farming. The brainchild of Mr. Atchuta, Founder of
non-profit organization – Estah Society, National Farmathon aims to engage with the best
minds from across India for the well-being of Indian Farmers.

3. MCNF- MULTI-CROP NATURAL FARMING

Multi-Crop Natural Farming Talli farmer producer company Ltd (MCNF-T) and Multi-Crop
Natural Farming Kelamangalam (MCNF-K) assisted ESTAH in its Custom Hiring Centers
(CHCs) established in ten villages under the FACT program for procurement of trained farm
labor to the aid of these farmers.

4. C-SED-CENTER FOR SOCIAL ENTREPRENEURSHIP

C-SED stands for Centre for Social Entrepreneurship Development. It is a unique initiative of
ESTAH and completely focuses on nurturing social entrepreneurs from the rural and semi-

8
urban background by identifying their business ideas. ESTAH, which is the parent
organization of C-SED is involved in rural empowerment and upliftment of backward classes
of the society.

9
Methodology
The methodology includes 3 major steps-

1. Research: I will be carrying out multiple searches for information. Any sort of
information with relevance will be jotted down, even if some part of it may not be used
it can be used for further reference. Initially, the sources would be secondary
information that is information taken from multiple internet sites. Apart from the
standard internet sources, the research will also include looking at the functionalities of
social networking sites. For example-Instagram has 2 different types of accounts which
are the regular account and the business account. The business account is something
that is being commonly used by companies and influencers. A business account
provides several essential features like insights. This particular feature provides us with
several statistics regarding the audience and their engagement levels. By interacting
with a few friends or family members who may have some practical expertise and
significant experience in this sector, I will try to get some primary information to bring
a personal and realistic approach to the project. They might be contributing some
useful information. I shall prepare a standardized questionnaire that shall determine the
success rates of various platforms and millennial marketing formulas. My guide that
throughout this entire research process is Phillip Kotler's "Marketing Management".
The book has provided me with an essential and foundation for all the research topics
that have been covered so far. It is extremely easy to understand and has been my
personal favourite source throughout the entire process.

2. Data Analysis and Organization: Data analysis involves segregation of data

according to convenience and the filtering out of non-essential data. As we are looking
into success rates, a good amount of quantitative data will be a part of our database.
This quantitative data should be converted into a pictorial format as it would become
engaging and easy to perceive for the readers. All the interpretations of this data shall
be put into a standard written format. The qualitative data that has been collected will
be read through well and reviewed twice All the data that has been collected must be
given an ideal format along with subtitles and must be made more appealing. The first
review must be made for all the essential topics that need to be covered and the second
review must be made for the tiny details that must be added to give the report and
polished edge and an excellent finish. This makes the last step a little easy as well. The
above steps are to be followed for all secondary source data. Data that has been
10
collected from interviews and questionnaires are to be processed and interpreted in a
written form. The written form then needs to analysed, after which several outcomes
can be determined and recorded. All data needs will be then arranged according to the
index order.

3. Report Processing: This final yet difficult step will be carried out at a slow pace as all
the ideas and information must be written down and converted into the compressed
form along with keeping in mind that none of the essential topics must be lost. All
qualitative data could be entered into Excel sheets which would help to determine the
percentages of different preferences, social media platforms, and success rates.
Qualitative data would help us determine the advantages of digital marketing on
customers and companies. It could also determine the positive and negative effects of
online and other modes of advertising. It should be quite understandable and
interesting to read. Will make sure to make it more realistic and give it a practical
approach.

Conclusion
Working with Estah Society was an enlightening experience and has taught me a lot. It is a
student run organization lead by very generous people and with a helping nature. I have learnt
about various issues that have been going through our very own country, maybe even in our
own households. It taught me empathy and putting myself in others shoes has completely
changed my perspective towards life. I would like to thank my college for this opportunity to
gain such insightful experience.

I would have been happy doing a summer internship program and learning more while doing
onsite jobs among people understanding and learning their experiences first hand. But,
considering the limitations and constraints, I am happy that I have gotten this opportunity.
Am thrilled that IBS gave this optional opportunity to take up market research internship at
Estah Society. I would like to thank Mr. Atchuta Rao, the founder of Estah society or
providing me with his valuable advice and some extraordinary suggestions and for giving me
an opportunity to work at this company.
