How are you using that information to inform your instruction?
Summative & Formative Assessments, Performance Task(s) & Other Evidence i.e. Pre-assessments, Unit
Tests, Quizzes, Essays, Exit Cards, etc.
Pre-assessment: Question: what do you know about plate tectonics? (In three Sentence)
Formative Assessment: Write a paper one what you have learned today and submitted it to
blackboard. Connect what you have learned today with last weeks lesson on Earth Atmospheres.
Summary:
If I had an actual class, I would continue to ask questions throughout the video. I would do both verbal question and the
pole questions. This way I can know that everyone is participating. Based on the Kahoot game and the paper at the end,
I will be able to see what they have learned and what still need works. Overall the video went well, had the technology
issues with the PowerPoint loading and the Kahoot game but I was able to make it work.
Lesson Plan:
• Ask a the pre-assessment question: wait for response and have a discussion on what the class this plate tectonic
are.
• Begin the PowerPoint
• Watch the two videos in the PowerPoint: student know they are allowed to take their own notes to help them
study.
• Play the kahoot game as a summative assessment. This assessment is a fun way to get every student involved.
• Finally explain their homework assignment. They have to write a paper on what they have learned today and how
it connects with last weeks lesson.
Lesson Closure(s):
• Student were to type in the chat and discuss any questions about the lesson.
• Student were able to ask questions throughout the lesson as well and are strongly encourage too.
Formative Assessment:
• The paper about what they had learned in class and ways to connect it to last weeks lesson. This teaches student
to use prior knowledge and connect it to what they are learning now.
