CASE 4 KILLER CANNIBALISTS

A of 30 is discovered to have entice boys and men to his apartment to have sex with them. In 15 of
these encounters he killed them, had sex with their corpses, ate their flesh, and dismembered their
bodies, keeping some body parts in the freezer and disposing of others in vat of acid. When caught, he
admitted to all of his actions. Though obviously bizarre and perverted, he was nevertheless considered
to be legally insane—that is, as being able to distinguish right from wrong. What should be done with
such a person? Explain in detail, providing reasons for your answer. Should he be executed? Why or
why not?

Group answer: As we discuss this case we agreed to let the killer be imprisoned for life. Why? Because
in prison every day you will suffer and be punished inside, in prison you do not have your freedom and
everyday your conscience will bother you, we think that is enough to someone who commit this bizarre
and heinous crime, we sometimes hear in the news that a killer is found dead to their cell committing
suicide that is because their conscience bother them in the case that they can’t stand it anymore the try
committing suicide to evade/escape from it. We agree to other reporters saying that everyone has the
ability to change for the better and killing the killer doesn’t bring back what happened already.

My own answer: For me the killer must face the death sentence he must be executed for doing this
kind of heinous crime imagine 30 persons where raped and killed even put their organs to freezer, in my
opinion there are 2 reason why this thing happened first he is in the presence of ILLEGAL DRUGS or he is
totally mentally ill and incapacitated. This kind of crimes must be under the Retributive Justice that we
call this kind of justice is response to criminal behavior that focuses on the punishment of lawbreakers
and the compensation of victims. In general, the severity of the punishment is proportionate to the
seriousness of the crime. We know probably here the quote “an eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth” this
imposes that if you kill someone your life must be the compensation for that. Because now a day the
case of heinous crimes is getting high because killers are not afraid to get caught because they know
that they will just end up in prison not in grave. In prison many of the bad people can get out because of
their connection and money for me it’s like useless to imprison this kind of person wo commits a very
heinous crime and in the end of the day the will be set free because of connection and money then they
will repeat what they already did, imagine that what if that killer will be the cause of the death of one of
your love ones..
