CASE STUDY 1

Q.1

As Gandhiji talked of loving the wrong-doers, but not the wrong, in my opinion, making judicial
punishment for rapists more strict would not make a major difference onto the number of rapes
committed. As nowadays there is widespread awareness regarding death penalty on rapes, yet we see a
rising number of rape cases. I think, instead, we should focus on making the society better, by spreading
awareness related to rapes, empowering the women, empowering the police to help before even the
crime is committed, and treating the rapists with not a death penalty and instead giving a longer jail
period, where they are educated to make the society better in the long run.

Q.2

I strongly believe that Gandhiji did the right thing by calling of the non-cooperation movement after the
chauri-chaura incident, as every form of protest should be carried in a non-violent manner, because it
holds the credibility of the protests, a protest should not start a riot, because there can never be a
constructive outcome of a riot.

Q.3

I believe the principles given by Gandhiji weren’t limited to that period but are applicable in the current
world and will stay relevant for a long time as well. I would try not to deviate from it, but since we are all
humans and we are bound to make mistakes, I believe given a certain scenario I would not always
behave aligning to the principles.

CASE STUDY -3

Q.1

In my opinion the of part Hon’ble Supreme Court of India to provide Kasab with a lawyer of his choice
was morally correct, because no matter how heinous the crime is, he/she isn’t guilty of it until proven in
the court, because we must respect the legislature and constitution of india. And every single person
should be able to present his/her views and as they want

Q.2

Thou I believe that death penalty isn’t proper solution, isn’t proper justice victim, instead its just a
straight up revenge which is barbaric in nature, but death penalties for crime where victims have lost
their lives, is just as to put in fear in the mind of wrong doers that they cant just commit a crime and
would later on deal with corrupt court officials and be free.

Q.3

I believe death penalties are more likely to be used as a publicity stunt, in order to channelise emotions
of the people by the governments, Instead govt. should help the victims and their families financially,
medically and legally. Govt. should hold itself responsible for letting a mishap happen, and treat the
victims with extreme hospitality and gratitude.
