What is Rays of Light: Glimpses into
the Ismaili Imamat?
Rays of Light: Glimpses into the Ismaili
Imamat is a Diamond Jubilee International
Programme and was one of the six Golden
Jubilee International Programmes. On
December 11, 2008, immediately following
the final Golden Jubilee Darbar in Paris,
Mawlana Hazar Imam, accompanied by
members of the Noorani family, inaugurated
the Rays of Light exhibition.
This photographic and multimedia exhibition
is an experiential exhibition. In addition to
high-quality photography that captures the
extensive work of the Imamat, visitors can
also look forward to experiencing virtual
reality zones, fully-guided and self-guided
tours, and an inspirational enlightenment
dome.
The exhibition also features rare moments
of Mawlana Hazar Imam and the Noorani
Family. These include photographs of
Mawlana Hazar Imam and Prince Amyn
as children, video clips of Mawlana Hazar
Imam inaugurating institutional projects,
and media chronicling historical moments
in His Imamat and in the faith. Mawlana
Hazar Imam has expressed his desire for
Rays of Light to be viewed by as many Jamati
members as possible.
The Rays of Light exhibition has so far toured
France, Portugal, the United Kingdom, the
United States of America, UAE, East Africa,
Canada, Australia and New Zealand.

Rays of Light: Glimpses into the Ismaili
Imamat exhibition can be viewed in your
respective country/region. Registration
for viewing of the exhibition is mandatory
and may only be done in Jamatkhana. All
available slots will be filled on a first-come,
first-serve basis. Your confirmed viewing
date and time will be noted on your Rays of
Light appointment card.
Registration as a family is encouraged. One
member of the family can register the entire
family.
What plans should I make to view
the exhibition?
A complete viewing of the exhibition will
take at least one hour. However, you can
stay and view the exhibition for as long as
you desire.
Please arrive at least 15 minutes before
your appointment time. If you are late or
miss your appointment time for any reason,
you may re-register for a new time slot.
Upon arrival at the exhibition venue, please
check-in at the registration desk, where
you will receive your souvenir copy of the
Rays of Light Exhibition Guide.
Food, beverages, photography, ideography,
use of cellular phones and/or other digital
devices are strictly prohibited inside the
exhibition premises. The exhibition is

Is the exhibit in English?
Yes, the exhibit is in English, but translators
can be arranged other languages upon
request. Please notify the need of a
translator at the time of registration. There
is also a self-guided tour app that translates
major parts of the exhibit into various
languages.
Is the exhibit open to non-Ismaili
family members?
Yes, non-Ismaili family members, friends,
colleagues, and business associates are
welcome. Please note that, like all Jamati
members, our non-Ismaili guests will
need to be registered in advance. Jamati
members are encouraged to accompany
their non-Ismaili guests.
If your guests require detailed information
about the exhibition, please inform the Rays
of Light Ambassador upon registration and/
or check-in. The Ambassador will make the
appropriate arrangements.
