Spy in New York-1
𝙄𝙉𝙏𝙍𝙊𝘿𝙐𝘾𝙏𝙄𝙊𝙉
Who knew that Tony Stark would be the fatherly type? with all his
arrogance and how he never had any affection from his father, you'd think
he wouldn't have kids. Ever.
But, surprisingly, on 09 October 2001, the light of his life was born. The one
person he loved more than himself. Madelyn Rose Stark. From the moment
he laid eyes on her, she was wrapped around his finger.
She came from an ex-shield agent, her mother. known as "the mind",
Josephine Williamson was one of the lesser-known S.H.I.E.L.D. agent. She
was the effect of a freak birth defect that happened when her mother had an
accident with the nuclear waste plant. So, she had inherited powers that
were far too powerful for anyone to comprehend.
You'd think this is the part where we recite the story of how Josephine and
Tony fell in love and had a child. But, sadly, that's not how it went.
Josephine and Tony spend many nights together for sure, but there was no
romance. Once she fell pregnant, she refused to tell anyone, disappearing
one day with her belongings gone and a note on her bed with two words.
"I'm sorry."
After that, Josephine took care of herself, taking all of the prenatal vitamins
and going to the doctor’s appointments. But, under a new name. Amanda
Arthur. No one knew whatever happened to the girl. Once she had given
birth, the stress took over her thoughts. She snapped under the new
pressure of being a mother, so she dropped dear Madelyn in a basket at
Tony Stark's doorstep and disappeared again without a trace.
At the ripe age of five, Maddie started to move things with her mind,
shape-shift, have sonic hearing, become invisible and teleport. As you can
probably guess, this was a surprise for Tony. It scared the hell out of him,
but he would never admit it. He was scared for his daughter's safety.
So, he promised himself he'd protect his daughter with his life, no matter
what.
Tony homeschooled her, buying her all of the school books and letting her
work with him in his workshop. He hid her from the press in fear that she
would be used against Tony or as collateral. He was terrified. But that
didn't stop him from giving her the life he knew she deserved.
No one knew, or even has a clue, that Tony Stark had a daughter. for a bit,
Maddie thought this was because her father hated her existence, wanting to
keep her hidden. After all, he was ashamed. but, at the end of the day, she
knew her father really loved her.
As she grew older, she was becoming the spitting image of Tony Stark.
They could be twins. She had brown wavy hair that was usually kept in a
ponytail when she was working with her dad on projects. Though, she had
these big green eyes. She got the green eyes from her mom. Puppy dog
eyes, as her father called it. She used them to get what she wanted.
But Tony actually didn't mind. He loved it. When she was little, or younger,
Maddie would watch him build his suit. She helped him by handing him
tools.
When tony was first kidnapped, the reason for making the Ironman suit,
Maddie was distraught. She was only eight years old at the time. It took a
toll on her. She didn't eat, she couldn't sleep.
Tony only thought about Maddie when he was kidnapped. And how he
needed to get back to his little girl as his life had depended on it. Because it,
well, actually did.
Pepper had grown fond of the little girl. Her attitude had grown on her.
And she treated her like her own daughter.
Maddie was Tony's sweet little girl. Nothing could ever take her away from
him. No one. She was in the safety of his hold. But there was always the
feeling that one day she would want to leave.

From the moment she could talk, Maddie had been a stubborn and
persistent little girl. Nothing could stop her from getting what she
wanted. Pepper always said that the reason for this was because of how
much her father spoiled her.
So, when Maddie had overheard her father and her uncle Rhodey having
a conversation about how Rhodey thought it would be a good idea to
have someone spy on their new recruit, Maddie quickly jumped on the
opportunity.
Maddie had wandered upstairs from her father's workshop, clad in the
AC/DC shirt she had stolen from her father's closet. She had been
working on her father's suit, trying to make some adjustments to it. That's
when she overheard the adults talking.
Rhodey had let out a sigh of annoyance because of Tony's stubbornness.
"Tony, he's a fifteen-year-old boy that we picked up from the street.
Someone should be watching him, to make sure he doesn't spill," he said,
crossing his arms as he watched Tony's reaction.
Tony shook his head and scoffed. "Don't you think that's a little much? A
spy? For, exactly, a fifteen-year-old boy!" he exclaimed, waving his hands
around as he spoke.
"All I'm saying is that I don't know if we could really trust him. He knows
almost everything about what's going on with the Avengers right now.
He knows about bucky. We should be careful." he continued.
"Think about it, tony." Rhodey then said.
Maddie then walked into view of the adults, their attention immediately
going to the smaller girl. She smiled widely at them, going over to greet
them.
She wrapped her arms around her father’s neck and kissed his cheek.
"Hey, dad," she said softly, ruffling his hair a bit. Tony stopped slouching
a bit as if to make a good impression on his daughter so she wouldn't
slouch.
tony smiled a bit, eying her shirt as he looked at her. "Hey, kiddo, nice
shirt. Where'd you get it?" he asked sarcastically, picking at the fabric and
chuckling.
Maddie giggled, slapping his hand away playfully. "You're not the only
one who likes AC/DC!" she exclaimed. she then turned to Rhodey,
pulling him into a loving hug. "I missed you, you should visit more," she
comments softly.
He smiled. "Hey squirt," he said. he had missed the presence of the bubbly
child. Finally, Maddie turned to her dad. "So... dad... I overheard you guys
talking... about the rookie? Peter? Yeah... so I was thinking..." she trailed,
not getting straight to the point right away.
Tony eyed her suspiciously. Then, he realized where she was heading. He
shook his head. "No. No! You are not staying in New York City to watch
over some silly boy." he said, surprised that she would even ask. His little
girl? staying in the big city? alone? hell no.
Maddie groaned, knowing her dad would react this way. "Dad, c’mon! It'll
be perfect! he has no clue who I am since you went out of your way to
keep me from being at the fight." she grumbled the last part. She crossed
her arms.
"I'll be there for a year, max! Whatever school he's in, I'll most likely excel
anyways. I'll make sure he doesn't get into trouble!" she whined, grabbing
her father's arm as she begged.
Rhodey shifted in his seat a bit before speaking up. "Honestly, tony, she's
the perfect fit," he commented and watched the two.
Maddie looked towards Rhodey, smiling at him and thanking him silently.
She then looked back to her father, who was getting more annoyed by the
second.
"Shut up, Rhodey, you are not helping."
Maddie looked at her father with the big puppy dog eyes that always
worked on him.
Tony stared at her for a minute before he groaned, cursing himself for
being so weak. "Fine, but there's going to be some ground rules set. And
you're only staying there for a year, at the most." Tony said and ran a hand
through his hair tugging at it gently as he thought about the decision he
just made.
Maddie squealed and hugged her father. "Thank you, dad! I promise you
won't regret it!" she said and kissed his cheek, heading to her room to pack
before Tony could change his mind.
Maddie had been packing since the night before. Tony had also come
upstairs, mumbling about how she was a pain in his ass. But he helped her
pack, making sure she had what she needed.
Maddie ran up to the tall woman and engulfed her in a hug, as she hadn't
seen her since she was younger. "Aunty Charlie!" she exclaimed, holding
her.
Charlie let out a laugh, hugging the waist of the smaller girl. "Hey, kid,
how's the old man?" she asked in a soft tone as she looked over the girl,
taking in how much she grew since she had seen her last.
Maddie smiled a bit. "Stubborn." she retorted and let out a laugh. Charlie
knew all too well about Tony's stubbornness.
Tony then walked out with the last few bags. He looked up and smiled at
Charlie. "Hey, Char," he said and hugged her. Tony helped Maddie put
her bags in and then hugged Maddie tightly, telling her all the dos and
don’ts of New York City.
Maddie smiled at his rambles and hugged him tightly. "Dad, I'll be okay.
I'll call you every night and send you a text almost every hour," she
reassured him and kissed his cheek before letting go, getting into the car.
Tony talked with Charlie, wanting to calm his nerves and make sure his
daughter would be safe. That was his baby. She was going to be basically
on her own. Charlie reassuringly put a hand on his shoulder before saying
goodbye and getting in the car.
Charlie buckled her seatbelt, glancing at Maddie. "Are ready for the new
school, Maddie?" she asked as Maddie waved goodbye to her father and
they drove off, blowing him a kiss, to which tony smiled widely.
Once they got to her apartment in Queens, Maddie got out and
grabbed all of the bags, dragging them into the elevator and to the sixth
floor, Charlie following closely behind.
Once they finally got into the apartment, Maddie dropped her bags with a
huff. The apartment was surprisingly small, for a S.H.I.E.L.D agent. But it
was decently sized.
"Your bedroom is at the end of the hall to the left. It has its bathroom." She
informed her, smiling and helping her bring her bags to her room.
She walked into the bedroom and smiled, liking the aura of the room. She
felt comfortable in it. She set her stuff down on the small couch in the
corner and sat on her bed.
Maddie saw a bag sticking out of one of her suitcases and she pulled it out.
it was a bunch of school supplies, specially made by Tony Stark. She
smiled to herself and looked up at Charlie.
Charlie dusted herself off and looked at Maddie. "Alright, let's set some
ground rules, okay? no sneaking out. You can always ask to leave, I won’t
care. But you'll bring this bracelet with you," she said, handing her a
bracelet that had 'm.s' on it. "It's a tracker. Just in case. If there's ever boys
over, no door closed. All the food in the fridge you can have and if you
ever want anything else just ask." she said. Maddie smiled. "You got it,
chief." she joked and nodded.
"I can tell you're going to have a good time in New York."
