Ethics SET B Activities

1. If he is not a teacher, then he can campaign for her mother. But he is no longer be involved or
be a part of the BEC. If Mr. Tobias is a teacher, he is not allowed to campaign in any candidacy.
A teacher is said to be a non-partisan group to avoid any issues related in the election. Based on
Article 2, Section 7 stated that teacher shall not use his/her position or facial authority or
influence to coerce any other person to follow any political course of action.

2. I can say that Mr. Campos used his long years of teaching to avoid or refuse those activities.
As a teacher he has a responsibility to follow his school principal regardless of personal feelings
or private opinions. Article 4, section 3 stated that every teacher shall improve, enhance and
strengthen his/her competence in order to be nationally and internationally competitive. He must
attend those seminars especially if it can improve his knowledge and skills in teaching.

3. No, because in the institution you must be aware that there are certain rules to follow. That is
related to posting, especially if it can affect your dignity as a teacher. And you must also be
aware in your community customs and traditions before posting. You must know them first to
avoid any problems and conflicts.

4. Yes, it is right not to receive or accept any compensation for his services. Based on Article 3,
section 2 every teacher shall provide leadership and actively participate in community
movements for moral, social, educational, economic, and civic betterment. Also, he accepted the
task willingly and voluntarily and agreed to do it without any honorarium involved. It is his own
decision and choice to render his service in the said activity.

5. No, because in Article 8, section 2 states that teacher shall recognize the interest and welfare
of learners. It shall be deal justifiably and impartially with each of them. Based on the code of
ethics a teacher has no right to refuse a student to be enrolled in that school whether he/she is a
resident or not. The teacher must only focus on the well being and situation of the student.

6. Yes, she is still liable to any untoward incident that will happen to her students. They are all
required to attend the said event. That event can be compared to a class inside the school. Based
on article 7, section 2 “Teacher shall recognize that the welfare of learners is of first and
foremost. And addition to my opinion, it is essential to prioritize the safety of the learners with or
without in that event.

7. Based on Article 10, section 2 “A teacher shall maintain a good reputation with respect, to the
financial matters such settlements, debts, and loans in arranging satisfactorily his private
financial affairs. If she obeys the law, there is no issue especially she is capable of paying her
debts. Unless there are guidelines regarding the ceiling amount that is loanable for teachers for
them to have enough take home pay. And then she borrows more than the ceiling amount, that is
the problem.

8. He is a stubborn and disobedient person because as a teacher, you are fully aware that you
shall always behave with honor and dignity. Refrain from such activities such as gambling, going
to discos and beerhouses. And you shall do such activities as a teacher as a role model on your
students and in the community. How will you able to teach your students to follow the laws if
you, yourself violates it?

9. Yes, it is right to have feelings for a boy. To my understanding, in article 8, section 7 stated
that “Mutual attraction and subsequent love develop between the teacher and the learner teacher
shall exercise utmost professional discretion to avoid scandal, gossip and preferential treatment
of the learner. It doesn’t say that that relationship between a teacher and a student is not
allowable but, they must limit their display of public affection and be vigilant in school to avoid
scandal and gossip about their relationship and any untoward incident that may destroy dignity
and reputation.

10. No, I do not believe the male teacher. His reason is not acceptable. The female student shall
report the case to the principal. So that, the teacher will call his attention and may conduct some
investigation related to the case. If he is proven guilty, the authorities shall impose punishments
to the teacher. So that, this issue will not arise again.

11. Impartiality and favoritism. his actions is not reasonable for him not to approved the student
as a president of the class. Because of the learner’s background that doesn’t meet his
expectations. It is a sad reality that some teachers have their own favorite in class. The teacher
must be a role model of equality and just.

12. The issue here is h identify the child’s name and even the specific details that is against the
data privacy law. As a teacher your are liable to any identification and details of the child. If you
have complaints or concerns regarding the child’s situation, you must conduct a meeting and tell
the parents in the form of feedbacking to establish communication to parents.

13. There is no possible issue in persuading their parents to buy meat from her stall. It is still
their decision or choice to buy meat in that stall. Except if the teacher will sell the products
inside the school premises especially when she was in class. While he/she was teaching to
learners.

14.This act is called “Bullying”. The teacher did not take action to settle the act of bullying.
Teacher must call the attention to those who created the group and to those students who posted
these pictures and posting negative comments. Also, call the attention of the parents and provide
acceptable consequences so that it will not happen again.

15. The list concern here is posting personal information is prohibited because of the Data
Privacy Law. This posted information may be used in such fraud and corruptions. Second, he
was attracted to young girls. It can ruin his reputation as a teacher. His co-workers who saw his
post must call his attention and discuss to his privately. And now, it is Mr. Yabut choice if he
will take down that information and those remarks that he made.

16. The concern here is, Ms. Botista’s unprofessional habits. This situation will fall under article
2, section 3 “A teacher shall be physically, mentally and morally fit. Article 3, section 3 “shall
behave with honor and dignity at all times and refrain from such activities like drunkenness”.
Article 2, section 8 “Teacher shall have the privilege of expounding the product of his research
and investigation, provided that if the results are inimical to the declared policies of the state.
They shall be bought to the proper authorities for appropriate remedial action.
17. No, this kind of behavior will not stop unless someone will stop them. The real issue here
was bullying and the act of the teacher for doing nothing even though he saw something wrong.
Teacher must call the attention of the bully and his/her parents to discuss what happened and to
create decision if the bullying happen again.

18. It happened just a month ago when one of my husband’s colleague posted negatively her FB
page pertaining to him. That teacher always posted negative thought about my husband. My
husband did not focus on it and ignore the post as long as it won’t hurt him physically and
mentally. And he also said that the post is not worthy or his attention so why to bother? I use to
say to him that we should take a revenge for that wrong doings but because I learned and become
aware of the code of ethics for teachers, I realized that what I want to do is improper and
unethical.
