CONJUCTION

Conjunction is a word used to connect a word with a word, a phrase with a phrase, and a sentence
with a sentence. Conjunction is divided into 3 (three), that is; 1) Coordinate conjunction; 2) subordinate
conjunction; and 3) correlative.

Konjungsi adalah kata yang digunakan untuk menghubungkan kata dengan kata, frase dengan frase, dan
kalimat dengan kalimat. Dlam Bahasa Inggris Konjungsi terbagi menjadi 3 (tiga), yaitu; 1) Coordinate
Conjuction; 2) Sub Ordinate Conjunction; dan 3) Correlative Conjunction.

1. Coordinate Conjunction : menghubungkan dengan kata/kalimat yang setara

FANBOYS

For (karena) : I eat, for I am hungry

And (dan) : She calls me, and He visits me

Nor (tidak) : I can’t be there and nor can Rizal

But (tetapi) : I love you, but I hate you

Or (atau) : is it Tuesday or Wednesday?

Yet (tetapi) : the t-shirt is too small for you, yet it fits to me

So (jadi) : I meet her, so I am happy

2. Subordinate conjunction : menghubungkan kalimat atau klausa

Kata before, after, as, when, while, until, since is the examples from subordinate conjunction.

E.g : I call you after she goes home

3. Correlative Conjunction : kata hubung berpasangan menghubungkan dengan kata/kalimat yang


setara

Both …. and ….. Neither ….. nor …


Not only …. but also ….. Either …… or ……

E.g : Not only I and She walk on Dahlia Street.
