1. Identify the problem: What issue will you and your group be addressing?
We will be addressing the topic whether vaccines should be mandatory or not. As a result
of the pandemic, it is possible to see how across the globe various widespread issues through
vaccines have arrived. To mandate them shall mean the improvement of the critical conditions of
the pandemic through collective action. However, preconceived notions and social movements
based upon some information has resulted in a great deal of objections against making vaccines
mandatory by states.

2. Identify your own biases: What is your position on the issue? Give 3 reasons you believe
this.
This group’s stand on this issue is that vaccine mandates are wrong, and they should not
be forced upon people. It is a complex issue that takes the shape of complex developments and
factors associating with medical and healthcare. On this basis, the following reasons seem to
point as to why vaccine mandates are not required:
 Vaccine mandates indicate that those who are unvaccinated are treated as second class
citizens.
 Partisan positioning and binary extremes in this issue does not help in making the
unvaccinated make the choice to do so, and instead makes the matter so much more
challenging.
 It showcases the failure in terms of the modern healthcare system, and what it must do to
achieve certain outcomes.

The authors here that vaccine must be made mandatory in an endeavor to curb the spread
of the virus and help restore normal social and economic life. Vaccines must be made mandatory
as an improvement to the condition of service. Legal mandates on policy clearly provides
support for immunization. With vaccines being made mandatory, it will help the community
reach herd immunity with enormous health, social, and economic benefits.

Here, the author concludes that vaccines must be mandatory as the pandemic had a profound
effect on the daily life of the people and in order to prevent the viral infection, stop its
transmission, and develop herd immunity, it is imperative to vaccinate the population. The key
ideas of the article are:
 There is no effective cure for the virus as of now, but various vaccines have been able to
provide sufficient immunity from the virus.
 There has been a sustained reduction in new cases, transmission of virus, admissions in
hospital with the effective roll out of the vaccination program.
 Widespread vaccination is required to reach herd immunity and thus they should be made
mandatory
 Presence of effective vaccines facilitate the process of mass vaccination.
 The research that validates that the COVID-19 vaccines are effective and safe with
immense benefits.

This particular source identifies the most important reasons, which have led to signifying
the ways in which protesting vaccine mandates have taken shape as a result of the currently
ongoing pandemic. It is with this particular point in mind that the vaccine hesitancy seems to be
associated with pertinent hesitancy and other major reservations. These conditions seemed to
state that the extent of effects that resisting vaccine mandates have significantly affected actual
public health.

The above conditions in terms of which certain possibilities regarding why people are
unwilling and uncertain about COVID-19 vaccines have been noted and highlighted through
distinct conditions and measures. In this fashion, the public attitudes have showcased concerning
the attitudes, which have taken a significantly resistant outlook toward the vaccines themselves,
and they have contributed towards the mandates. Buoyed by one of the most outrageous
misinformation movement, public health has forever been jeopardized as a result of these
conditions and circumstances.
