1 INTRODUCTION / INTRODUCCIÓN

Around the globe there are lots of delicious foods. Every single country has its typical dishes.
Although pasta is considered one of the world’s favourite foods, according to a culinary survey,
Chinese, Mexican, and Peruvian cuisine are also recognized. These days, restaurants include
international food on their menus. In Peru, for example, people can find dishes from different
countries; so, they can eat different types of food every day. Most people eat hamburgers or pizza
three times a week. Some people drink soup or eat salad once in a while. Peruvian teenagers and
children love fried chicken and French fries with soda. In our country, all the dishes are served
with rice. We eat rice every day with potatoes, meat, fish, guinea pig, and chicken. Fish is another
important ingredient that Peruvians consume very often. Ceviche represents our country.
Peruvian families eat it once a week. On Holy Week, a religious celebration, people don’t eat meat
or pork very often, they replaced them with fish. It
is a Peruvian custom. In short, Peruvians love

There are different types of food around the world. For example, hamburgers come from
U.S.; pasta, from Italy; sushi, from Japan; ceviche and fried guinea pig, from Peru. However,
it is possible to eat international food in a restaurant. In our country, we can get any
international food.

We use ‘How often’ to express frequency. In addition, time expressions are used to indicate
frequency, too.
