El Field
(Fully Independent Electric Land Drone)

Our Idea must be innovative!

We must check it in different sources. For example Patent databases, IPR helpdesk, previously funded
projects...
What is the problem?

The problem is the consumption, price and environmental footprint of oil in agriculture.
The problem is the production of crude oil, which is scarce in the EU.
Crude oil is by far the largest imported energy product (70% of total EU energy imports in the first half of
2018). In 2014, About 13% of crude oil and all petroleum products consumed in the EU were sourced
from a source within the EU.
The most striking problem is the burning of stubble because of the lower oil costs of the producer
himself. It is more useful to have a stubble operation before plowing.
This problem is largely solved by electric tractors. Their indirect negative eco-impact is in battery
production and recycling technology. Non-renewable energy is also used to produce electricity. Farmers
need energy at certain times of the year.
Bringing a charging station in the field, we are resolving several problems.
Battery chargers mounted on power lines near fields.
By redesigning agricultural machines in the direction of modular drones, greater automation is achieved.
In this case, we first select an agricultural operation to adapt to the design of the land drone.
The task of the project is to make a test vehicle for chopping stubble, which is powered by electricity
directly on the field.
Modular land drone agricultural machinery. The focus is on the drive unit, which is separated from the
accessories that are characteristic of the various field operations.
What are the goals?
The goal is to reduce oil consumption in agriculture. This reduces both petroleum oil imports and the
environmental footprint. The goal is to enable farmers to use renewable energy that is cheaper for them.
They also have the opportunity to participate in the production of electricity that they can store in the
electricity grid. This approach provides a new perspective on the design of agricultural machinery
production.
The aim is to have a positive impact on both the EU's short-term and long-term debt.

What is our innovative solution?

It's an innovative solution electric agricultural machines are the future of agriculture. Their price is high
because of the need for large batteries (the source of electricity is far from the field). Their autonomy is
low and therefore not competitive with existing oil-consuming ones. For example: A 50 kW (68 hp)
electric tractor with a 100kW / h battery capacity can run for 5 hours and recharge for 40 minutes (80%).
The charging source on the field allows you to change the existing design method in the field cultivation
process. It increases autonomy, reduces the need for more expensive battery types, and thus achieves
lower tillage costs. If tractors are on electricity, the state would find it easier to subsidize farmers by
paying for electricity bundled with banners.

What can the European project have to offer?

We can contribute to the replacement of fossil-based energy, helping to decarbonize the economy.
Market-related solutions for fossil-free agriculture. The proposals will test cost-effective technical
solutions to reduce dependence on fossil energy in agriculture.

Do I have/have the time to prepare the proposal?

Observing the proposed proposal, asking if it is possible to arrive at the preparation of the project
proposal at all? It depends on my ability to manage the time and the work required. It also depends on the
organizations that support me. We can discuss the idea with NCP / EC.
STRUCTURING THE PROJECT IDEA

WHY?

General objectives:
The aim of (BioSens) is the development of competitive and eco-friendly Land Drone for Agricultural work
with a charging option on the field itself. The aim is creating industrial leadership and move towards a low-
carbon economy. It implements a system of agricultural subsidies (it is more practical with electricity) and
improves its environmental and humanitarian impacts. The Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) of EU has
always been a difficult area of EU policy to reform. We all know what the rural class means to Europe, not
only through its economic values but also by its moral and social values. This idea modernizing labor
markets and welfare systems, enhancing innovation, improving efficiency, and also reduce the cost of
production in agriculture.
Specific Objectives:
Rethink ideas of agricultural production.
Place eight charging stations directly on the field. Three stations for direct connection to the grid, for the
production of electricity from the wind and by wind, by combustion of biofuels, H2O2 generator.
Make two land drones for agricultural work.
Development, improvement and optimization of a stubble chopper machine.
Developing a Recycling Battery.

WHO?

Cosortium
We must define a description of the legal entity and its main tasks, with an explanation of how its profile
matches the tasks in the proposal. Description of any significant infrastructure and/or any major items of
technical equipment, relevant to the proposed work. A curriculum vitae or description of the profile of the
persons, including their gender, who will be primarily responsible for carrying out the proposed research
and innovation activities, relevant publications, and/or products, services (including widely-used datasets
or software), or other achievements relevant to the call content. A list of relevant previous projects or
activities, connected to the subject of this proposal.
When we create our consortium in line with the project objectives, we must always look for Balance,
Complementarity, Excellence, and Commitment.
We need partners who have the competencies to complete the task assigned to them. This means we need
a team of mechatronics experts, a team of agricultural mechanics experts, a team of electricians, a team of
chemistry experts, a stakeholder collaboration team, a chairing and facilitating project team.
We should also not forget the involvement of external stakeholders, users, evaluation committee,
advisory committee (scientific, IPR, gender, exploitation, etc.)

WHERE?

Partners should provide their own workshop for their part of the project. It is necessary to select and buy
the missing equipment and material.
The goal is to use the products of this project primarily in
Europe. Good practices find their way and expand spaces.
Best vs worst place to test technology
In each participating country, one charging station is installed directly on the electric power pole and one
mobile experimental station.
Eight charging stations need to be installed. Make two land drones. Test three types of battery.
Topic/Idea based
Best vs Worst place to test the technology
It is necessary to select in each country from each partner in the project a test field with as different
cultivation conditions as possible.
WHAT?

The main result

The primary objectives for the realization of the project objective are eight battery charging stations
designed, constructed and installed.
Made an environmentally friendly battery of satisfactory characteristics. Made two agricultural land
drones for chopping stubble. In order to reach these goals, we need to achieve several smaller goals.
These goals are also used to monitor project implementation.
As a result of the project we have Tangible (prototype platform, software, publications) and intangible
object (new knowledge (in the report), proven added value,…)

MILESTONES

Are the checkpoints where decisions are needed regarding the next phase of the project. The turning point
for us is the ability to build quality battery charging stations, select or produce environmentally friendly
batteries, and build a functional land drone. For example, a turning point can occur when a consortium
has to decide which of several technologies to apply for further development (battery type).
A milestone is a measurement of progress toward an output whereas the deliverable is the result of the
process Milestones can be put before the end of a phase so that corrective actions can be taken if
problems arise, and the deliverable can be completed on time

WHEN?

This part of the project requires the cooperation of all partners. It is necessary to jointly determine the
time required for each Work package and create Project scheduling Gantt charts that illustrate the start
and finish dates of the terminal elements of a project. Terminal elements comprise the work breakdown
structure of the project showing you what has to be done (the activities) and when (the schedule).

BUDGET

The Budget also seeks the participation and consent of all project partners.
