It enables kids to make independent decisions, acquire literacy preferences, and have a
better understanding of their own reading abilities. Teachers and parents select books
with the best of intentions in mind, usually for the purpose of improving reading skills,
but not always to foster a love of reading. We need to teach kids how to select books on
their own.
Assessment
1. Is this the best option for my child? You are the greatest judge of what will pique your
child's interest. – As a teacher you should always consider your pupil’s interest. In order
to boost their confidence in reading and learning. This will make them more
knowledgeable on what they are doing.
Is the artwork well-executed? – This will give you an exact hint on the result that your
pupils are giving. To make their output even more profitable.
Is it a well-written story? – For this will catch their attention and interest them to read and
learn. This will boost their confidence in reading and learning.
Is the text engaging and informative? – This will catch their attention and put them at an
ease state. This will make them more attentive when reading.
Is the book's concept timeless? – This will make their time reading worth it. This will
make them more knowledgeable.
