I. Scope

This procedure is issued to describe the processes involved in the control of inspection measuring
and test equipment. The term equipment in the following sections shall mean inspection measuring
or test equipment. This procedure applies to all inspection measuring and test equipment on units:-
40 Product Handling, 50 Linear Low Density Polyethylene and 60 Polypropylene, whether obtained
new, brought from other location, shipped with permanent plant or by vendors or subcontractors or
manufactured on site.
This procedure excludes measuring equipment being part of construction plant and machinery also
measuring equipment for incorporation in the permanent works, for example: process
instrumentation.

3.1. Responsibilities

3.1.1. AKSl QAlQC Manager

The AKSl QAIQC Manager will ensure that all relevant inspection measuring and test
equipment is controlled in accordance with this procedure and will allocate staff to
undertake specific duties in respect of calibration, inspection, testing, monitoring and
reporting. The qualification and experience record of these staff will be reviewed by the
AKSl QAIQC Manager to ensure their competence for the proposed work. These records
will be retained in a central file in the QC De~artment.

The AKSl QAIQC Manager will determine the need for the provision of onsite calibration
equipment which shall be retained in a secure location, used only for calibration and shall
itself be subject to recalibration at intervals not less than those prescribed by the
manufacturers. Such equipment may include thermometry, pressure test equipment and
simple metrological equipment. Such equipment shall be calibrated by direct reference to
