GUIDELINES FOR MID-TERM EXAMINATION

Mid Term Examination will be conducted in 4 steps

1. Assignment - 30 marks - Grades NUR - VIII / 20 marks - Grades IX -XII

1.1 - Question Paper - 20 marks - Grades NUR - VIII / 10 marks - Grades

IX -XII
1.2 - Project - 10 marks - Grades NUR - X
1.2.1 - 15 marks for Physics, chemistry, Biology, PE, IP (Practical
mode for Grades XI & XII)
1.2.2 - 10 Marks for Economics, Business Studies,
Accountancy, History, Political Science.
1.2.3 - 10 Marks Mathematics - Mode of Activity File.
1.2.4 - 10 marks for Languages in the mode neighborhood
survey, role-play(individual/group)
2. MCQ - 60 Questions - 40 marks - Grades IX -XII

(50 - 55 Questions - 35marks for Physics, chemistry, Biology,

PE, IP of IX & XII)
20 Questions - 20 marks - Grades V - VIII
20 Questions - 20 marks - Grades I - IV
20 Questions - 20 marks - Grades NUR - UKG
For Subjects like Accounts, Economics, Physics, Mathematics an extra time of 10 minutes can
be added in total timing other than 20 seconds per question. Teachers have to strictly follow
20 Seconds per question in Languages, History, SST, Science, MSc, GK, Computer and only
extra 5 minutes for uploading for all the subjects from Nursery to XII.
3. Oral Examination- 5 + 1 Questions; 30 marks(10/30 is for listening and
Speaking Skills for Languages); 5-7 mins -Grades
IX -XII

7 + 1 Questions; 40 marks; 5-7 mins - Grades V -VIII

9 + 1 Questions; 40 marks; 5-7 mins - Grades I - IV
9 + 1 Questions; 40 marks; 5-7 mins -Grades NUR - UKG

1. Assignment (10 +10 ) / (20 + 10)

It will contain two parts. First part is written assignment (question paper format 80 marks).
Assessment of the assignment will be done in the same way as it was done in PT I. All
students are instructed to adhere the guidelines of Assignment given below.
Format of Assessment - 10 marks for Grades IX - XII & 20 marks for Grades NUR - VIII )
A) Content and Construction of content - 2.5/10; 5/20

B) Handwriting - 2/10; 4/20

C) Proper Margin - 1.5/10; 3/20

D) Underline to the headings/thrust - 2/10; 4/20

E) Neatness of answer paper - 1/10; 2/20

F) Accuracy and correctness of the primary information - 1/10; 2/20

In second part one project question will be assigned to each child . Subject teacher will
assign different project to each child. Purpose of this project to provide practical knowledge
of the subject. For the classes XI & XII kindly adhere the above mentioned instructions.
Students will receive the Project questions on or before 15 August. Last date of submission
of the Project will be on or before 10September.

2. MCQ (40) / (20)

MCQ paper will be of 40 marks to the senior wing and 20 marks to the rest as mentioned
above.

3. Oral (30) / (40)

Oral exam will be of 30 marks to the senior wing and 40 marks to the rest as mentioned
above. This exam will be taken by panel of teachers. In each panel 2 teachers will be there.
Panel will ask questions from syllabus question will be asked from project or practical in the
form of viva of Practical examinations, which is assigned to that student. Time assigned to
each child should be 5 to 7 minutes.

4. Standard Operating Procedures for Online MCQ Examination and Oral Examination
4.1 Availability of sufficient data package and proper internet connectivity before the
commencement of the examination are the responsibility of Parents or guardians.
4.2 Availability of the working Video camera or web camera, microphone and internet
connectivity (at least 3G speed) on their access device (PC, Laptop, Smart-phone) are the
sole responsibility of Parents or Guardians. Students will be under Camera Surveillance of
invigilators appointed by the Examination Board during Examination.
4.3 Ensure that either students or parents are familiar with the operations to upload the
entries without any fail.
4.4 Students are not allowed to Switch-off the camera and Microphone during the
Examination.
4.5 In case of students who are not visible on the Proctor’s screen, their exam may be
treated as canceled.
4.6 If any student is found involved in any malpractice(s) during camera surveillance, then
the examination of the student would be canceled.
4.7 Students should train themselves to answer and upload it within the stipulated time and
the late entry is not acceptable.

5. Result
Class teachers are requested to prepare and submit the result of their own Classes with the
complete bifurcation of 100 marks with seven days after the last examination to the
Academic Coordinators. The entry of marks in the edissap should be done by the Class
teachers in consultation with Mrs. Shilpa and Academic Coordinators according to the
format in the edissap before the same date itself. Subject Teachers are supposed to provide
the result of all four formats on or before the fifth day after each examination to the Class
Teacher. Examination Chief will arrange the result and everything related to it by the ninth
day after the last examination and submit it to Principal. Accordingly Principal will convene
the PTM.

GUIDELINES FOR ASSIGNMENT

The students need to follow the below given guidelines for the assignments.

1. Children must attempt the answers in an A 4 Size ruled sheets.

2. Name of the student, Class, Roll No and No of sheets attached must be written on the
right side corner of the answer sheet. Name of the Subject have to be mentioned at the
center and the date have to be mentioned at the left side corner.

3. Proper Questions no. must written in the margin along with the sub numbering given in
the question paper.

4. Except the question patterns like Fill in the Blanks, Match the Following, One Word
Answer, a line must be drawn after each answer. For the rest, mentioned above ( Fill in the
Blanks, Match the Following, One Word Answer), draw a line after completing questions in
each pattern.

5. Important points, headings (Double line), subheadings (single line) must be underlined.

6. In the questions such as Fill in the blanks, Match the Following, One Word Answer and
true and false the full sentence must be written with underlined answer.

7. In Questions like match the column, No arrow lines will be considered.

8. In MCQs student must write the correct options along with the word/sentence of the
option chosen.

9. Handwritten and presentation must be neat and readable, inshort legible.

10. Strictly adhere to the word limit.

11. The question must be attempted Section wise.

12. Sheets must be properly numbered and stapled.

13. Scale or ruler must be used no free hand line will be allowed.

14. Use of whitener is strictly prohibited.

15. Proper blue ball pen or pencil must used.

16. For Mathematics, Physics, Accountancy and Economics Underline the final answer for
solution of problems.

17. For Mathematics, one mark questions, student must give the explanation. Only answer
will not be considered.

18. For Mathematics, Physics, Accountancy and Economics rough work should be done in
margin drawn in right side.
