1. There's rejoicing in the heavens

When the saints their course have run.
Rest from toil and temptation,
To their rightful home they've come.
It is surely so much better
Than all joy and gladness here.
Think to always dwell together
With their Lord and Savior dear.
2.
In God's sight it is so precious
When a godly soul has died—
Through death's veil and home from battle
With the Savior to abide.
They behold His radiant splendor,
Gaze upon His glorious face,
And in all the angels' presence
They receive His warm embrace.
3.
Clouds of witnesses about us,
Spirits of the just ones there,
With their Judge have rest so boundless,
For they kept His Word with care.
Midst the hosts of angels thronging,
There in glorious peace to stay—
But they wait with hearts of longing
For that great reunion Day.
4.
Untold bliss and joy forever,
Boundless time our Lord to praise,
Endless time to speak together—
Be prepared in all your ways!
Let us lift our heads with gladness;
Our redemption Day is nigh.
Lay hold now of heaven's goodness.
Then we'll meet there in the sky.

1.
Each heart is now rejoicing in heavenly accord.
The light that's gained through suff 'ring brings content from the Lord.
Now Zion's cloud of witnesses beckons unto me.
With body and with soul I desire with Him to be.

Zion, thou place of peace—
In thee God's saints shall ever
From all their sorrows cease.
2.
By faith I gain a glimpse of the place where Jesus dwells.
My rev'rence is so deep when this thought within me wells.
There holiness is reigning, and love does e'er abide;
There all life's hidden myst'ries by Him are clarified.
3.
Here summer, rain and sunshine, each lovely autumn day,
And winter with its gladness all quickly fade away.
Here parents, children, loved ones are torn apart by death;
Each flower that you care for soon wilts as by a breath.
4.
This world and all its glory is but deceit so vain.
We see this, O so clearly; each day God makes it plain.
We therefore gather treasure where no corruption is.
God dwells not in the temp'ral; does it not realize this?

1.
Teach us, dear God, to number all our days on earth
And live each one as if it were our last.
Lord, give us grace to use each opportunity
To seek Thy wisdom ere this day is past.
Give us a heart that's pure and full of noble thoughts,
To bless the others in their hour of need,
To show them love and serve them in humility—
The life of Christ to manifest in word and deed.
2.
We thank Thee, Lord, for giving us another day
To walk this earth and serve Thy people still.
We yield our lives a living sacrifice to Thee,
With minds renewed to prove Thy perfect will.
Help us to watch and pray so we redeem the time
And live for others' good while we draw breath.
O blessed life, no cares or thoughts to please ourselves;
Upon this way Thy Spirit frees from sin and death.
3.
We do not know how many days remain to us
To heed Thy Word and keep each law with care.
We long to hear the angel's voice, the trumpet's sound,
And with the saints to meet Thee in the air.
Although no man can say when Thy return shall be,
We know for sure the Day is drawing near;
So may we use these precious days to gather oil
And fill our vessels and our lamps in godly fear.

1.
I thank Thee, O precious Savior,
For all Thou hast given me—
For blessings so rich and countless,
As vast as the rolling sea.
Thy care and Thy love enfold me,
:/: So great are they, Lord, for me. :/:

I thank Thee for days full of sunshine,
For trials of deepest night.
I thank Thee, my precious Savior,
For Thou guidest all things aright.
2.
I thank Thee, O precious Savior,
For hardships upon my way.
I've learned from my trials and burdens
To humbly Thy will obey.
Thou fillest my heart with gladness,
:/: And all things are joy to me. :/:
3.
My life in Thy hands is resting;
O Savior, I thank Thee so.
Thou plannest my good in all things
That come as life's way I go.
I thank Thee that all Thou sendest
:/: Is only the best for me. :/:
