1. Discuss your understanding about Human Rights and its importance to every
individual.
Human rights is how People to speak up when they experience abuse and
corruption.The concept of human rights empowers people and tells them that they
deserve dignity from society, whether it's the government or their work environment.
When they don't receive it, they can stand up. All people has a right to do something
and it is important for making sure that all humans get treated equally.

2. Explain briefly the principle of universality, equality and nondiscrimination and


give examples.
All human beings are born free and equal in dignity and rights. and the equal and
inalienable rights of all members of the human family is the foundation of freedom,
justice and peace in the world. Every regional human rights instruments also refers to
the universality of rights. the right to equal treatment requires that all persons be treated
equally before the law, without discrimination.

3. Based on the principles of human rights, cite atleast three (3) situations or
circumstances that you know that is happening in the country.

1. Everyone has the right to the preservation of human dignity, personal honour,
reputation and the protection of good name.
2. The civil and political rights, on the one hand, and economic, social and cultural
rights, on the other, must be treated equally.
3.Discriminate with respect to terms and conditions of employment on account of: (1)
sex; (2) age; (3) married status; (4) pregnant status; (5) solo parent status; (6) disability;
(7) mental health condition.

4. In the normative content of human rights includes both freedom and entitlement
and based in Article 19 section 2 of the ICCPR, the right to freedom of
expression includes “the freedom to seek, receive and impart information and
ideas of all kinds, regardless of frontiers, either orally, in writing or in print. Do
you think regulation by the State on punishing persons who verbally or in writing
defamatory words violates this principle?

Yes because all of we has a limitation to do something although they have to think
wisely but they dont make a good solution to solve a kind of situation that they
encountered.

5. When can you say that your rights were violated by the State?

If you believe that a protected right was violated, you likely have a number of options
available to you including resolving the matter through informal negotiations, filing a
claim with the government We can say if our rights are violates if they discriminate our
rights to, Freedom of religion, Police misconduct, Censorship in public schools or
libraries, Fairness in school or prison discipline, Privacy and other protections from
government intrusion, Inhumane jail or prison conditions, Unfair treatment by
government.
