Manuscripts for publication should be submitted to the editor
in-chief by uploading the manuscript file to the Springer on-line

Authorship and Ethical Issues
The journal is a member of the Committee on Publication
Ethics (COPE) and subscribes to its principles on how to deal with
acts of misconduct thereby committing to investigate allegations
of misconduct in order to ensure the integrity of research.
The journal may use plagiarism detection software to screen
the submissions. If plagiarism is identified, the COPE guidelines
on plagiarism will be followed.

Scope of Journal
Fibers and Polymers publishes original research on all aspects
of fiber and polymer science, engineering and technology, which
have not been or are not to be published elsewhere.
Peer-Review
All manuscripts are treated as confidential. They are peer-
reviewed by at least 2 anonymous reviewers selected by the
editor. The corresponding author is notified as soon as possible
of the editor’s decision to accept, reject, or request revision of
manuscripts. When the final revised manuscript is completely
acceptable according to the format and criteria, it is scheduled for
publication in the next available issue. Rejected papers will not
be peer-reviewed again.
Manuscripts
The editors welcome regular articles, communications, notes,
and reviews. Articles should be comprehensive reports of
significant results or conclusions. Communications should be
preliminary reports of unusual urgency, significance and interest.
A more complete article may be published at a later date. A note
deals with a limited subject that requires no further elaboration in
the future. Reviews should be short, critical surveys of progress
in specific fields of fiber and polymer research during the previous
5-10 years and should contain new and important information on
the subject. The length of both communications and notes must
not exceed 2000 words. Manuscripts are usually reviewed by at
least two experts. Authors are invited to recommend reviewers.
Preparation of Manuscripts
Manuscripts must be typewritten on 22×28 cm or A4 paper,
one side only, with adequate margins. The entire manuscript
(including abstract, references, tables, and figure legends) shouldbe
double-spaced. All pages should be numbered consecutively.
References, tables, figure captions, schemes, and figures should
be placed in that order, at the end of the paper. Tables, charts, and
schemes should be numbered with Arabic numerals. Original
drawings and photographs should be attached to the end of text
and authors should indicate the place, where the figures are to be
inserted, in the text or marginal notations in the typescript.
Unclear drawings and photographs are not accepted for
publication.
Authors should write in clear, concise English. The name of
the corresponding author to whom inquiries about the paper may
be addressed should be marked with an asterisk. Running heads
(less than 50 letters) should be placed between the title of the
paper and the abstract. An abstract should be provided for all
articles, communications, notes, and reviews. Abstracts should
explain briefly the reason for the work, the significant results,
and conclusions. Five keywords should be listed after the abstract.
The experimental section should provide clear, unambiguous
description of materials, methods, and equipments in sufficient
details to permit repetition of the work elsewhere. It is the
responsibility of authors to ensure the accuracy of references.
References to the paper should be numbered in one consecutive
series. References should be typed in the format specified by
Fibers and Polymers (see below) and cited in the text by numbers
in squarebrackets.

Nomenclature
Authors should use systematic names similar to those used by
Chemical Abstracts Service and IUPAC. CA nomenclature rules
are contained in Appendix VI of the current Chemical Abstracts
Index Guide.
Submission of Manuscripts
Manuscripts for publication may be submitted via the
Springer on-line submission system (the so-called EM) (www.
editorialmanager.com/fipo) by following the instruction for the
on-line submission of EM.
Proofs
Galley proofs will be sent to the author who submitted the
paper within 3~4 weeks after the manuscript is accepted. Proofs
should be checked against the manuscript and returned as soon as
possible. A pdf file of the published manuscript will be sent to
the corresponding author.
Publication Charge
The publication fee is free. The off-print may be provided if
the authors agree to pay the production cost. The authors may ask
the production cost to the publisher (The Korean Fiber Society,
e-mail: fipo@fiber.or.kr). For color printing, US$ 100 per color
page will be charged to the authors.
