MODULE 19
MOTIVATION AND TYPES OF MOTIVATION

1. Distinguish between the two types of motivation. Give examples for each.

- Extraverted motivated behaviors are performed to get something from others or to

avoid certain negative outcomes, while engaging in an activity to achieve results
separate from the activity itself. Ex. You are reading due to the praise you may be
collect if you obtain an award
2. Why is intrinsic motivation more advantageous than extrinsic motivation?
- Intrinsically motivated actions are carried out because of the personal satisfaction
they bring. According to Deci (1971), these behaviors are defined as behaviors that
are rewarded with the satisfaction of performing the behavior itself. Therefore, the
Intrinsic motivation represents involvement in the activity for itself.
3. Explain the ideal relationship between extrinsic and intrinsic motivation in
the development of students’ motivation.
- Extrinsic motivation helps students become driven and competitive, while intrinsic
motivation supports seeking knowledge for its own sake. Ultimately, fostering both
types of motivation helps students develop good study habits and an investment in
learning. One of example of this is when studying, you gain knowledge in yourself
and at the same time extrinsic factors is there to also motivate in doing so.
Module 20
Theories on Factor Affecting Motivation

Activity
Here are some questions. Read and explain each of them. Do you agree
or disagree?

Discuss your answers to the following:

1. To which are quality, success and happiness attributed?
- Happiness should bring success. Success is a by-product when we are happy
and doing what we love in life. But nothing is good if our happiness depends
on our success. It's also a matter of focus. Quality, success and happiness
belong to those who act and make their dreams come true, those who do
what they want to do, who work for the goals they want to achieve, and those
who do their best to make their dreams come true.
2. Do you agree? Why or why not?
- I agree, because opportunities are given to those who wait and prepare in
the process.

3. Based on quotations, are success and quality trace to factors within or

outside a person’s control?
- Judging by the quote, success and quality depend on factors beyond human
control. People can do anything we want because we have the freedom to do
it, including what we dream of, but to achieve this we have to do anything
about it and do whatever it takes.
4. What is effect on one’s motivation if success or quality is attributed to
something within a person’s control? To something outside a person’s
control?
- If the success or quality is due to something under the person's control, the
influence on motivation will be enhanced or effective. Because it motivates
the character within himself. However, if this is due to something outside the
person's control, this can lead to the fact that performance may not be
achieved because it is short-term or short-lived. It can motivate the person to
achieve satisfaction as opposed to controlling them.
5. Does goal or dream have something to do with a person’s motivation?
Explain your answer.
- Goals or dreams are actually related to a person's motivation. Since you are
a person who wants to achieve your goals, you act according to your goals or
dreams. Actions will affect the product or result. It is simply a matter of
motivation to put him in a different situation to overcome difficulties along
the way before he achieves what he wants.

MODULE 21
STUDENT'S DIVERSITY IN MOTIVATION

*In not more than 100 words write your reflection on your very own
experience in relation to activity A,B,C, D,E and F.
- Motivation is the decisive factor in turning good thoughts into immediate action. It
can turn good ideas into businesses and have a positive impact on the world around
you. Nothing can be achieved without motivation. There is no goal post or purpose
to aim for.
Motivation reflects something unique to each of us, enabling us to achieve valuable
results such as improved performance, improved well-being, personal growth and
determination. Motivation is a way to change our way of thinking, feeling and
behavior. Motivation means we know we have to do better. That means we know
that we can be better.
MODULE 22
HUMAN ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS AFFECTING MOTIVATION

*Compose a song or a poem about a highly motivating teacher, Present your

output in class.

My Teacher
I know I wasn’t the best behaved
That you’ve ever thought
I know I got distracted
much more than I ought
I didn’t pay attention
every minute of the day,
And admittedly, my favorite time
was going out to play
Yet determinedly you taught me
Putting me to the test
Encouraging my efforts
as you made me do my best
Some lessons were a challenge
but you taught me how to cope
Each day I grew in confidence
Ability, wisdom and hope
I really now appreciate
you made me learn through fun
Thank you so very much
For all you’ve said and done.
*Complete this statement. A caring teacher is the one who is clear about the roles
and responsibilities that he or she needs to have to impart the necessary skills to
students the one who will light their way and to build a Concrete behavior.

MODULE 24
Physical Learning Environment

Physical learning Environment play a crucial role in students learning,

in your own understanding what is the importance of physical learning
environment to yourself as we are in a new normal set up for learning?
- From the class module onto class atmosphere, everything revolves around
expectations, stays in control, and reacts to change. Class atmosphere is considered
an integral part of classroom behavior and learning. Understanding how to create
and maintain a positive class atmosphere is considered the basis for improving the
school. Recognized the importance of having a healthy classroom for students to
realize their dreams and improve their learning experience. The atmosphere of the
class includes the mood and attitude that students feel in the classroom. Be
confident when you study. The learning environment forms a path for the learner to
understand the lesson. As an ambitious educator, I need to learn to deal with things
and create a healthy and beneficial learning environment for learners to grow and
acquire knowledge and ideas I have. My attitude as a teacher is very important. How
you treat your students, make rules, and treat your students is also important. I'm
not always friendly, but it doesn't mean either, in order to get the respect of the
students, because I know that I can get respect, not just ask.
