METHODOLOGY
Research Design
The researchers used the descriptive approach to determine the contributing factors for
students waning interest with the blended learning as a mode of education during the pandemic.
The descriptive method will describe the data of what is being asked. The idea behind this type
of research is to study the factors contributed by blended learning to the interest of the student in
education.
The researchers made up a list of potential and willing to participate in this study, all
students who were approached consented to participate. All together there are 3 participants from
different departments. The researchers introduced themselves to the participants and give them
the reason for approaching them. Further, we asked them if they were interested in participating
in the study. Once the permission was granted, the researchers give an overview of the study to
familiarize themselves with the aim and objectives of the study. Participants were given consent
forms to fill in and sign, stating that the purpose of the study was explained to them and that they
had the right to withdraw from the interview at any time. The interview was recorded and a few
notes were taken as a supplement to recording. The role of recording the interview is to ensure

Research Site
Kidapawan City.
The researchers first looked for possible and necessary resources that could help them in
their study. After an intensive reading and browsing from the related literatures, they adopted an
interview questions containing questions pertinent with the contributing factors for students
waning interest with the blended learning as a mode of education during the pandemic. Data for
this study were analyzed by means of interpretive analysis. All record interviews for this study
Data Analysis
Qualitative data is also called categorical data since this data can be grouped according to
categories.A qualitative data can be observed and recorded. This type of data can be collected
through methods of observations, one-on-one interviews, and also conducting focus group or
what we called the FGD (Focus Grouped Discussion). In order to interpret the information
gathered, detailed analysis of data was made. The main themes developed from the data
especially with regard to the waning interest on blended learning faced by the students of
Colegio de Kidapawan were coded and categorized. Data for this study will be analyzed by
interpretative analysis.
Ethical Consideration
For beginning researchers undertaking their first major research project, can often be a time
of mixed emotions. Initial meetings with supervisors or research collaborators involve addressing
questions around the nature and scope of the research question, the methodological tools that will
be used to collect data and the ease with which entry into the field of research is possible. The
research paradigm that will be adopted is also a vital point of clarification that should be
discussed during these initial scoping stages. Similarly, distinctions between methodology and
methodsshould be understood so that the novice researcher is aware of basic concepts and
terminology particular to the research process (Nyame-Asiamah & Patel, 2009; Bouma & Ling,
2004).
constitutes ethical research is an essential part of planning for a research project. This matter of
ethical research is the basis of this chapter. At all times the researcher should ensure that
participants are safe from harm and are protected from unnecessary stress. This is the field of
ethics.
Unethical research that is carried out almost always leaves participants and researchers
feeling vulnerable and exposed in negative ways. Unethical behaviour that is displayed by
researchers can also compromise the validity and trustworthiness of data that is collected. This is
especially the case if participants feel that their physical or mental well-being is threatened in
some way (Orb, Eisenhauer, & Wynaden, 2001; Escobedo, Guerrero, Lujan, Ramirez, &
Serrano, 2007). In order to avoid unwanted research dilemmas such as this, it is therefore
important to ensure that careful planning and ethical standards are adhered to (Bouma,& Ling
2004).
