Executive Summary
People are the assets on which competitive advantage is built, whether in the public or
private sector. People and their skills is the one thing that competitor organizations can
not imitate. So, Human Resource Management and the practices associated with it have
become accepted by the managers in all forms of organizations.

This report explores the state of Human Resource Management practices in Garments
industry particularly square Textile Ltd. This report is titled “HR Practices and Labor
Unrest in RMG sector of Bangladesh : A Study of Square Textile Ltd”. I tried to measure
Human Resource Management practices through some basic dimensions such as HRM
Planning, Job Analysis recruitment and selection process, training and development,
promotion, Performance Appraisal, compensation and Rules and Regulation to resist the
labor Unrest.

In the first Chapter, I discussed introduction and other formalities to make this report a
worthy one. Then I focused on methodology of the study. In this chapter, I focused on
variables, sampling, and methods of collecting data, analytical tools and software which
are used. However, Then Chapter two I focused organizational profiles such as the
history, function, vision and mission of Square Textile Ltd.. Then chapter three I focused
on Literature Review on study, then chapter four I focuses on analysis and findings. Last
the chapter five focuses on recommendations and conclusion. The findings of the report
can be summarized by putting that the readymade garments industry of Bangladesh
particularly Square Textile Ltd. is trying to follow Human Resource Management
practices properly to resist any form of labor unrest.
