Aims
1. Let students read an article and answer questions on their own
2. This reading exercise is for the purpose of extensive reading, so no pre-teaching is
needed.

Procedures
1. Teacher shows student how to find the article first: http://www.chickensoup.com
And double click archive and look for the story named Puppies For Sale
2. Ss go to the website and read on their own. No instruction from teacher is needed.
If students have any problems with the words, tell them to guess their meaning or
ignore them.
3. When they have finished, they can go to http://www.hkedcity.net and the forum for
students to answer questions posted by the teacher.
4. When all of them have finished, the teacher should go over and discuss answers
with students.

Role of the teacher

The role of the teacher in this lesson is to see if students understand what they have to
read. In fact, if students like such stories, this is a way students will have fun in using
IT to learn and they are using the language to learn.

Questions to be posted by the teacher:

1. Why did the boy enter the store?
2. Why was the little dog far behind other dogs?
3. Why didn’t the boy want the owner to give him the dog for free?
4. Why did the boy want only that puppy, not others?
