Kalim Hyder
The aim of this course is to strengthen the research abilities of the students to conduct
research on microdata, micro-econometric, corporate finance an accounting. Understanding
research techniques, learning necessary skills, developing scientific and rational thinking would be
the key outcomes. This course will equip students with the knowledge and understanding of
empirical corporate finance, models of financial econometrics, modelling financial distress and
bankruptcy accounting research and disclosure micro-econometric, and micro econometrics of
corporate governance.
Student will identifying research topic, problems and provide a logical framework to the
proposal by considering appropriate methodologies and expected results. In this course, all the
students are expected to identify a research topic in consultation with me, and will develop a
research proposal for assessment. It will deliver operative tools for choosing a dissertation topic,
selecting research questions and addressing them with the more suitable theoretical or/and
empirical techniques, and, finally, interpreting and writing the results. Better communication skills
will be evaluated by the presentation and participation.
