and operate and get recognisation of assaying

recognisation from BIS as per various norms.

European Telecommunications Standards
Institute (ETSI, Europe) and Federal
Communications Commission (FCC, US)
standards. Our authorized agents connect
applicants with local representative support
and assist them in obtaining ETA
certification.

. In 2018, Aleph INDIA started BEE

department to assist the manufacturer and
importer to get STAR Ratings for household
and similar products. The BEE (Bureau of
Energy Efficiency) is an agency of
the Government of India. The function of
this agency is to develop the programs
which will increase the conservation and
efficient use of energy in India.

. In 2018, Aleph INDIA started manufacturing

of Mechanical & Electrical testing
equipment for laboratory setup.

01 BIS is the National Standard Body of India established under the BIS Act 1986 for the harmonious
development of the activities of standardization, marking and quality certification of goods and
for matters connected therewith or incidental thereto. BIS has been providing traceability and
tangibility benefits to the national economy in a number of ways – providing safe reliable quality
goods; minimizing health hazards to consumers; promoting exports and imports substitute;
control over proliferation of varieties etc. through standardization, certification and testing.

 Foreign Manufacturers Certification Scheme (ISI Mark)
02 Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) has been operating a Foreign Manufacturers Certification
Scheme (FMCS) since the year 2000. Under FMCS, licence is granted to a Foreign Manufacturer
for use of Standard Mark on a product that conforms to an Indian Standard. The Scheme is
applicable for grant of licence for all products except Electronics and IT goods notified by Deity.
The licence is granted by Foreign Manufacturers Certification Department (FMCD) located at BIS
Headquarters, New Delhi. The BIS licence is granted for a location where the product is
manufactured and tested as per relevant Indian Standard(s) and Standard Mark is applied on the
product conforming to such Indian Standard(s)

03 Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology (MEITY) has notified “Electronics and
Information Technology Goods (Requirement for Compulsory Registration) Order, 2012″on 3rd Oct
2012 for electronics items. Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) then registers the manufacturers
under its registration scheme who are permitted to declare that their articles conform to the
Indian Standard (s).

 Wireless Planning & Coordination
04 Products with radio and/or wireless functionalities which are imported or manufactured and
marketed in India must have an equipment type approval (ETA) certificate from the Wireless
Planning and Coordination (WPC) wing of the Ministry of Communications of the government of
India. This includes products with Bluetooth, wireless local area network access technology (Wi Fi),
small digital radios (Zigbee), and radio frequency identification (RFID) among others.
We assist in testing such products as per the European Telecommunications Standards Institute
(ETSI, Europe) and Federal Communications Commission (FCC, US) standards. Our authorized
agents connect applicants with local representative support and assist them in obtaining ETA
certification. We support you in completing the required documentation for filing an application at
the WPC.

05 TEC stands for Telecommunication Engineering Centre. TEC facilitates Department of
Telecommunications, Government of India in drafting and implementing various standards and
policies for safe and secure use of emerging technologies in telecommunications. TEC had
released specifications for the quality measures for the telecom equipments. These specifications
can be categorized as Generic Requirements (GRs), Interface Requirements (IRs) and Service
Requirements (SR).
TEC is responsible to issue various approvals such as Interface Approvals, Certificate of Approvals,
Service Approvals & Type Approvals.

 Food Safety and Standards Authority of India
06 The Food Safety & Standards Act, 2006 introduced to improve the hygiene and quality of food
has brought about tremendous changes in the food industry. As per the Act, no person shall
commence or carry on any food business except under a FSSAI license or FSSAI registration.
Therefore, any food manufacturing or processing or packaging or distributing entity is now
required to obtain a FSSAI License or Registration.

 Hallmarking – Gold & Silver
07 Hallmarking is the accurate determination and official recording of the proportionate content of
precious metal in precious metal articles. Hallmarks are thus official marks used in many
countries as a guarantee of purity or fineness of precious metal articles. The principle objectives
of the Hallmarking Scheme are to protect the public against adulteration and to obligate
manufacturers to maintain legal standards of fineness. In India, at present two precious metals
namely gold and silver have been brought under the purview of Hallmarking.

08 Many products require CE marking before they can be sold in the EEA ( EU + Iceland,
Lichtenstein and Norway). CE marking proves that your product has been assessed and meets EU
safety, health and environmental protection requirements. It is valid for products manufactured
both inside and outside the EEA, that are then marketed inside the EEA.
To affix the CE marking to your product, you must put together a technical dossier proving that
your product fulfils all the EU-wide requirements. As the product’s manufacturer, you bear sole
responsibility for declaring conformity with all requirements. Once your product bears the CE
marking, you might have to provide your distributors and/or importers with all the supporting
documentation concerning CE marking.

objectives of Standards & Labeling Program is to provide the consumer an informed choice about
the energy saving and thereby the cost saving potential of the marketed household and other
equipment. This is expected to impact the energy savings in the medium and long run while at the
same time it will position domestic industry to compete in such markets where norms for energy
efficiency are mandatory.

10 Disposal of e-wastes is a particular problem faced in many regions across the globe.
All the Indian manufacturers and importers of Electronic Products need to submit a Future Plan
of the proper disposal of the Electronic-Waste in front of Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB)
of India as the mandatory requirement. We provide assistance to the Manufacturer and
Importer to obtain EPR Certificate with authentic Recycler Agreement.
