Trunk-Or-Treat
Free, Safe, Family-Friendly Fun
Eaton, Ohio, October 17, 2019 – The Preble County YMCA (www.daytonymca.org)
will host its annual Trunk-Or-Treat event this year on Saturday, October 26 th from 6:30-
8:30 PM in the parking lot of the YMCA in Eaton. Trunk-Or-Treat is similar to normal
trick-or-treating, but with decorated cars instead of houses. Volunteers will decorate the
trunks of their cars and pass out candy to trick-or-treaters, while kids of all ages are able
to walk from car to car and trick-or-treat. There is no need to RSVP for this event. There
will also be many fun games to play, a prize for the best decorated car, and a costume
parade at 7 PM. Sponsors and donations are always welcome to help support this
event.

“Last year, we had 400-500 kids and families attend Trunk-Or-Treat,” said Ashleigh
Buffenbarger, Aquatics Director, Preble County YMCA. “This event gives kids in the
community a safe and controlled place to trick-or-treat.”
This is the second time that the Preble County Y has hosted a Trunk-Or-Treat event.
The accessibility to the Y facility sets it apart from other Trunk-Or-Treat events around
the area. Those who attend can partake in games for kids of all ages inside the Y, not
just in its parking lot.
People who attend Trunk-Or-Treat this year can expect to enjoy:
 The various creative costumes,
 Trick-or-treating without the hassle,
 Uniquely decorated trunks (with a prize for the best one),
 Fun games,
 A costume parade,
 Candy, candy, and more candy!
“We were looking for a way to get the Y more involved with the community, and this is a
free community event,” stated Jenny Imhoff, Office Manager, Preble County YMCA. “It’s
all in one safe location… we can monitor what is going in and out of our building.”
