What does being a member of a therapeutic community mean to you?
Being a member of therapeutic community helps as to grow as an individual, we
develop things that we like and find comfort to the family and we learned a lot on how to communicate to the other members. It promotes human and social transformation among us who are part of the community and among us. Being a member helps me realized my responsibility and the effect I made to my therapeutic family. Our job function is not totally quite difficult because we did it to the purpose of serving our family. The therapeutic community teach us to be better not for our-self but also for the friends and family we had. It helps us overcome behavior management, intellectual and spiritual aspects, emotional and psychological aspects and vocational or survival aspects. Being responsible and being accountable in all of our works, from time management to being social made us realize that we can and we are healing. It changes our lifestyle and behavior for the better improvement. It also helps other member to effectively reentry programs help to give former offenders the opportunity to work, providing income and meaning in their lives. Some provide mentorship, housing placement, workforce development, and employment placement among other supportive services.
I am so grateful for all the other members of the therapeutic community they mean a lot to not as friends but as family.
