Course Name: Plane Trigonometry
Course Description: The course deals with the measurement of triangles with a
review of basic principles in geometry, and algebra, the definition of
trigonometric function of an acute angle, solutions of right triangles
and oblique triangles where theorems, laws, and formulas are
used. Trigonometric identities and logarithms are also taken.
Problems on heights, distance, angles of elevation and depression
and other related branches of mathematics.
Course Credits: 4 units
Pre-requisite: None
Contact Hours/week: 3 hours
Course Outcomes:
At the end of the course, the students must:
1. acquire comprehensive understanding of the vision, mission,
goals, and core values of Assumption College of Nabunturan.
2. internalize the vision, mission, goals, and core values of the
school to achieve excellence in education
3. defined the different terminologies used in trigonometry;
4. determined the trigonometric function, basic identities,
equations, and their application;
5. acquired comprehensive understanding of different concepts in
trigonometry;
6. applied correctly the plane trigonometric properties in practical
problems;
7. used different formulas in solving problems;
8. synthesized a metaphor about the importance of mathematics in
a daily life situation;
9. demonstrated industry, honesty, punctuality, and self-discipline
from the study of the course.
