Dramatic Monologue

(Enters stage walking, holding a stick)

“Who are you?? No!!! Don’t touch me!! Stop!! Please... No, no, no.” (frightened)

“What??? My Parents? Mom and Dad? They’re here?” (asks excitedly)

“Ohhhhhh How long I’ve waited to finally see…” (Pauses, makes up her mind)

“No!!! No!!! (angry) Why are you here?!! Do you know how much I hate you!! Huh? I hate you! I
hate you! I hate you!

Look at me? Look at me now!? Do you think I’m fine? Do you think I am okay? No!!” (totally
angry)

“You, you left me in darkness… Even if I open my eyes, I see nothing but…darkness. Even my life
is completely covered with so much darkness. (unhappy)

(turns angry again) “Because of you!! Because of you!! You are the ones to be blamed why I am
suffering all of these! You, who, brought me into this world. You, who, also left me miserable.”

“Ouch!! No!!! Don’t touch me!! No!!!! I’ll call grandma.”

“Grandma! (shouts) Grandma!! Grandma… Grandma… (shhhhh) Grandma… (shhhhh)

Grandma…” (cries)

“Grandma has left me too… (sobs) The only person who loved and cared for me is gone.”

“That night in the street, she was calling my name… right, she was calling my name and then…
and then… there... there… was a car…” (holds her breath then cries). No! No! This can’t be. This is not
happening to me…She said she would never leave me. (pause) She’s gone…She’s gone…”

“What have I done to suffer from all of these? To not be able to see the world? To be
abandoned by the persons I loved. To be left here all alone. Why?? Why??” (extremely sad)

“And now, you’ll show up like nothing had happened?! Wow! Amazing! (sarcastic). Totally
amazing! right? You’re here with me, Mother, Father, daughter… a happy family (laughs).”

“How I really wished I have a happy family.” (pause)

“Wait…Who are you?? No!!! Don’t touch me!! Stop!! Please...What?? The doctor?? (a bit afraid)
The doctor?? You’re taking me to the doctor?? Okay… (Excited) (Shhhhhhh)… They’re taking me to the
doctor (Shhhhhh)… (whisper) I’ll talk to you later okay; it was nice talking with you… Byeeeee!
The story

(There was once a girl who’s born blind and was abandoned by her parents. She grew with an
old woman who adopted her and cared for her despite of her disabilities. They were happy living
together, content with their simple life until one day, this girl longed to know her parents and try to look
for them. She got lost, nowhere in the middle of a shattered community. She doesn’t know where to go.
With all the concern, her guardian looked after her. She searched for her to wherever she might go but
was unable to see her. And then that moment claimed the life of her grandma. That incident caused her
to blame her parents. She lived alone, lost her mind. She was known as a girl who is blind and crazy.)
