Lesson Introduction (3:00) -Ss come into the gymnasium and sit in their assigned spots
-Ss that are present are asked to separate from the class and join their group
-T have Ss sit in a group on the line of the court facing T located with back against the
wall
-T review information covered in the previous session (chasing, fleeing, dodging, concepts
of movement)
-T explain Activity one and the rules Ss should follow to stay safe during the activity
Transition (:30) -T ask S(s) to set up the hula hoop and bowling pin the center of the group area
-T gather students back to the group line
Activity one: (Grab & go) (10:00) - Three poly spots with balls placed on top are -T cover rules of the Activity one
set up in the middle of the group area -T split Ss into two groups on opposite sides of the group area
-Ss lined up on the baseline at either end of -Ss line up across the group area from the person they will be up against
the group area -Ss run to the middle to retrieve the ball in whichever travel form T shouts
-Ss who reach the ball first must run back to their side, being chased by their opponent
(overall points awarded to the team with the most points earned each round)
-(!) Explain the importance of being careful when moving through the group area
-(!) Ss should keep their heads up to avoid collisions
-(!) Maintain your own personal space, Ss should not attempt to tackle and or shove
others
-(!) Be careful to avoid slipping when reaching the center line
Transition (2:00) -T remove poly spots and balls from group area
-T ask S(s) to set up the hula hoop and bowling pin the center of the group area
-T gather students back to the group line
Activity two: (Steal the treasure) (10:00) - A hula hoop with a singular bowling pin is -T assigns roles (guards, thieves)
set up in the center of the group area -T directs Ss that there are two guards who must protect the treasure
-2 Ss located near the center of the group -Ss must attempt to successfully pick up the treasure from the center circle without being
area, remaining Ss begin at baseline moving tagged by the guards

Activity three: (Capture the flag) (9:00) -2 Ss have flags in their pockets -T reiterate the importance of following safety guidelines
-Ss will play a game of capture the flag
-Two Ss will have flags placed in their pockets, the objective: successfully take a flag from
a Ss pocket and place it in your own
-Ss must chase in the locomotor style called out by T every (:30)
Transition (:30) -Ss return flags and help gather any
remaining equipment in group area
