Exhibition Center with a viewing Platform

Project objective
Exhibition center design should allow for an unforgettable experience for the users.
It encourages discovery and learning, should also be accessible and connected to the
surroundings, with many different uses of space. A viewing platform connected to
the center should be at the best viewing point, with the appropriate structure system.
Allowing the users to observe, contemplate and take pictures.

Design objectives
 Complete site analysis with all circulation/accessibility /environmental
analysis and urban context analysis.
 Exploring different space features and use spaces integration to maximize
user experience and functionality.
 Achieving Innovative design ideas with innovative user experience.
 Achieving maximum usage of spaces and areas.
 Exploring new and innovative structure systems.

Project suggested location


It is suggested to establish the exhibition center over (3.5 feddans) located in many
sectors in Egypt, each student should choose form these suggested sites (or choose
another landplot according to his idea).

Design procedure varies between group work and individual work
according to the following schedule:

Project program
Footprint (FP.) should not exceed 40% of the total land plot area.
Maximum height should not exceed 15 m.

 Entrance to a main hall
 3 Exhibition halls. (2 main halls and 1 secondary hall, connected / separated
/ semi-connected)
 Small convention centre (Library, lecture halls, meeting rooms and MPU)
 4 Multifunction shops
 Main restaurant and Kiosks /Cafeteria
 10 Administration rooms
 Services
 WCs (Males and females)

 Vertical circulation (Stairs, elevators, escalators if needed and ramps)

Project grading criteria


According to the degree of innovation and success of the idea

 The beauty and integration of spaces that maximizes function


 The expression of exterior design should reflect what’s inside
 The choice of materials/colors/innovative techniques
 The integrity of design and drawings.
 The overall presentation of the design.

All design drawings should be submitted with the standards of architecture
department FEDA on A1 SIZE COLORED BOARDS.
