Daily Market Report 30 th October, 2020

A) Equity

1) Market statistics

 The Total Market Capitalisation and All Share Index decreased as a result of
decreased share prices of EABL and KCB by 2.47 percent and 2.56 percent;

 The Domestic Market Capitalization and Tanzania share Index increased as a

result of increased share price of CRDB by 5.88 percent from TZS 170 to TZS
180 as detailed in Annexure I, Table I and II.

2) Turnover / Volume movement

 Total turnover for the day decreased to TZS 27.50 million compared to TZS
35.23 million recorded during the previous trading session. The reason for the
observed market performance was due to decrease in investors’ participation in
the bourse compared to previous trading session. However, total volume for
the day increased to 137,010 shares compared to 30,314 shares traded during
the previous trading session as detailed in Table III.

3) Top Movers

 CRDB emerged the top contributor in terms of both turnover and volume in
which it accounted to 88.86 percent of the total turnover from the purchase and
sell of 135,750 shares at a weighted average price of TZS 180 per share as
detailed in Table IV.

4) Foreign investors participation

 Foreign investors contributed 78.08 percent to the total turnover as detailed in

Table V.

5) Vodacom Trades

 There was no trade for VODA shares during the session.

6) Net Assets Values – UTT

 UTT continued to publish schemes’ NAV performance during the day as shown
on Table VI.

7) Fixed Income Securities

A) Government Bonds

 A 20-year bond with a coupon rate of 15.49% and a face value of TZS 10.00
billion was traded at 102.9913% in 1 deal(s) as detailed in Table VII.

B) Corporate bonds

 There was no activity in the Corporate Bonds segment.

8) Commodity Exchange Trading Report

 There was no commodity traded during the day.

9) Market Intelligence (details appended as Annexure II)

 Vodacom to pay over 400 bn/- dividends: Daily News, 2nd November,
2020.
 The shine is coming off the boom stocks of 2020: Daily News, 2nd
November, 2020.

10) Market Watch

 Review of 30th October, 2020 detailed trade on STT system showed nothing
suspicious on the market watch.
