Person 1: Marquis de Lafayette

Personality: charming, optimistic, awkward, zealous, egocentric, ambitious

Likes: Supported the idea of constitutional monarchy.

Dislikes: Lafayette’s guards opened fire on 50 demonstrators which greatly


damaged his popularity and in October he resigned from the guard.

Abilities/Skills/Jobs: Commander of the National Guard. Captain of the


French Army. Representative in the National Assembly.

Achievements: Helped draw up the Declaration of the Rights of Man. Led


the French soldiers who supported the American Revolution and came
back as a national hero. Helped the US to gain its independence.
Probably without him, America could have lost the war.

Person 2: Maximilien Robespierre

Personality: self-righteous, introvert, inquisitor

Likes: Part of the Third Estate.

Dislikes: The enemy for him was the clergy and the nobility.

Abilities/Skills/Jobs: Good ability to recall details. Lawyer. President of the


Jacobins. Leading member of the Committee of Public Safety.

Achievements: Meat and bread were rationed. Grains were sold on a fixed
price set by the government, so prices were controlled. Equality was
practised.
